More chance of getting molested by an Islamist in Europe than having your Note 7 blow up... At least you can have a safety check and recall for Note 7's.

Which is fine, widespread makes it sound like there have been 1000's of reports.
I've just got off the phone with Samsung and they've told me to carry on using my phone as normal and if i have any concerns take it to a Samsung repair centre, ie CPW, to have them give it a once over

Yes recall the right thing to do but 35 cases worldwide is hardly widespread.
To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7.

35 is the confirmed and reported number until today, there will be more much more.
any of them can explode.
point is,the issue is very real and is happening, hence the recall.

widespread enough that the have halted selling Note 7 and are going to recall ALL Note 7s sold.

Note 7 will be recalled by Samsung due to widespread explosion of the batteries.
At this point buying a case should be your last concern.

And product recall announced for note 7, shame. It's a nice phone.

Around a fiver is normal price for spigen shell cases like this. The rrp is made up.
Mine is 6 months old and although it's done a cracking job at protecting my phone, the case is coming apart and I think the heat from the phone over the months has loosened the glue that binds the back panel to the sides.
Ok cases though. Dropped mine accidentally a few times and not a scratch or mark on my phone.
