Seems a great price for a Sound Base with a 1 year warranty delivered direct from Sony.

Got it today. Looks like new with original packaging. The sound is definitely much better than the TV sound. But the music isn't that mind blowing IMHO. But for the price paid, I can't complain. Haven't experienced sync issues using optical cable. Have hooked chromecast audio, TV and use music streamed via Bluetooth.

Finally took the plunge and ordered the soundbar. If there are sync issues then I will only use it for listening to the music from my mobile devices. Fingers crossed!

Thanks OP.
Mine arrived on Friday.
The bar had a small dent in the wood at the front corner where the felt grill meets the main body. Its hardly noticeable and it looks like it has been "coloured in". Other than that it was as new.
The sound quality is league's better than through my TV speakers. It sounded odd to begin with but now I don't know know how I could have lived without it. It adds an entire spectrum of sound that was simply not there with the inbuilt tv speakers.
I've always found that cheap 2.1 systems with seperate subs tend to be a bit boomy and finding the correct placement tedious but the inbuilt one in this unit is actually quite pleasant although the little driver doesn't go incredibly deep. All in all, I would describe the sound as "Warm".
I've only noticed one problem with the unit.
I'm having issues with the sundbar being unable to maintain a connection through HDMI ARC. Moving through the tv menus or changing inputs causes the sound bar to change input to 'optical' resulting in loss of sound until you manually change the sound bar input back to HDMI.
The work areound for this is to connect the bar with both HDMI and Optical connections. The bar is still able to be controlled (turned on/off and volume control) through the HDMI connection but uses the optical for sound. Its not ideal but to appears to work.
For the record, I'm using this with a Bravia KD-49X8350C and on another note, maximum weight limit for the base is 30kg.

I am really on the fence on this one... want to get one but worried about the sync issues with Sky box. My TV does not have HDMI ARC (only optical/analog). Is the sync issue only limited to HDMI ARC and Optical connections? Will analog be OK?

Received mine yesterday and it looks like new. Have it plugged in to Sony tv via HDMI arc and have no sync issues. Not using any other boxes as this is in my conservatory so guess I won't have any issues.

Not sorted sync yet. Obviously why they are cheap.
My firmware is the updated fixed one from what I can see (1.4).
Using optical and just turning TV sound down to zero. Not had time to test HDMI ARC yet.
Music sounds fabulous on this Sony bar.

Mine arrived today. Slight mark on front fabric but otherwise pristine. Sound is much clearer than my previous sound bar. Having sync issues with SKY TV and volume isn't super loud. Very pleased overall at bargain price.

There is an optical input though it isn't mentioned in the specs (bit odd!). The sound sync issues sound like a nightmare if your hardware cannot compensate. Humax Youview and Sky boxes have this feature but doubt it's available on consoles etc.

Unless these have had some firmware upgrade to fix the sound sync issue (which I'm not aware has been made available), I wouldn't go near it, having suffered through it myself. One of the most ridiculous tech problems I've ever had which has not been address by a giant like Sony. I imagine these refurbs are all customer returns because of the issue, they've tidied them up and reboxed them to sell as refurbs.

Bought the same one earlier this year from them. Far better than the TV speakers, well pleased with mine.
The one we were sent looked brand new in original box with all new accessories, definitely couldn't tell it was refurbished.
