The PS4 slim releases imminently (early Sep) which comes with a newly designed controller, prices for all older consoles and their peripherals will be greatly reduced over the coming months.

Beware newer Dualshock 3s are often much worse/lower quality than older models. It depends if they're older/newer stock, but there's no telling what model you'll get. The original and "A1" models are absolutely fine. However around 2013 they started making these "A2" models that are noticeably cheaper with worse analog sticks. Trust me I bought one new this year and was very disappointed. I'd check the back of box and if it says "Package © 2013" I'd stay away.

What I did instead was hunt on Ebay for private sellers who have old stock of Dualshock 3s. I'm not talking about mass chink-sellers, I mean individuals selling maybe a single Dualshock 3 they never opened. Like there's a lot of guys who never opened a second Dualshock 3 they got as part of a bundle, so they kept it and sold it later. Never buy from the mass-sellers with stock-photos, they're guaranteed to be fakes. Make sure it's an individual or small seller who took a pic of the box, showing you it's genuine.

I'm not going to endorse it, but just from my own research this is the website I found and it has a pretty good video and picture. The picture at first just looks like a reflection but that is in fact the way the new light works... I wouldn't call it a front facing light bar, more like a little bit of edge light that (deliberately) bleeds through the touch pad. It's a pretty cool adaptation but not a real redesign.

£40? What a ripoff. I have two and if I were to get a third one (I've got four PS3 controllers) then it'd be a Gioteck 360-style pad controller which I do.

The advantage the DS3s have is that they're compat with PSTV and that comes handy for me.

Good price, had to buy a replacement recently and bit the bullet at £38 from Argos :disappointed:

My Mrs works in Ashford tempted to ask her to pick one up as back up if any of mine go wrong, not that I play the ps3 much these days though...
