It isn't in stock at my local store or for delivery but I thought I would share as others may have more luck.
If it isn't in stock for you, it may be worth informing Amazon and hope they price match.I already did it but no luck so far, maybe they'll match the price if they get enough people filling in the seen it cheaper form.
Scroll down to: "Feedback Would you like to update product info, give feedback on images, or tell us about a lower price?" and click on tell us about a lower price, if the tell us about a lower price link isn't displayed, click on the 5TB drive option and then click back on the 6TB drive, it should then appear. You will know you're filling in the correct form as it will have:
It's under the section "Feedback", which is under "Additional Information". The text shown is: "Feedback Would you like to update product info, give feedback on images, or tell us about a lower price?"
The link is "tell us about a lower price?" BUT, it may not be shown, in which case you will see: "Feedback Would you like to update product info or give feedback on images?" Like this:
If you select the "5TB" drive (click on it) and then select the "6TB" drive (click on it):
It should change to this:
Make sure it is the correct size before filling in the form by looking at the item description, then select the "Website (Online)" option button:
(That's an 'o' by the way, not zero. HUKD don't like to link to this site as they get the referral fee!)

Yes, over last week I have tried every place I can use across country and "no stock". So really misleading to still have on Argos site if no more stock at that price in last week and no other info provided

Argos do this all the time - the mods should ban them from this site!

The 8tb archive drives use it - not sure about the smaller ones but I would guess not.
I use these in my homeserver for media storage. Write speed can and does drop but I am never maxing it out anyway and have a ssd scratch area for incoming files anyway so don’t notice the difference. Read speeds are around 150/170MBps... Plenty fast. No they probably aren’t great drives in a high write environment but for a home media server they are perfect.

Is it only their 6TB+ drives that use this tech? I've got a 4 and 5TB drive from Seagate, which I picked up in the last 1-2 years.
I remember reading about this SMR tech in an article about the war between SSD and HDD, but then completely forgot; it does sound suboptimal.

This one any good, majority usually hate every Seagate hard drive on here

It uses SMR, imagine like when you replace a tile on your roof you have to replace all of them up to the missing tile, because they overlap, that's how this drive writes data. It sounds risky but it must be ok in practice if they are selling it. It is a slower performer compared to normal drives given one write causes many more writes, and can't be used in a RAID something to consider if there is any chance you might move to a RAID or NAS with RAID in the future.
Personally I would recommend the WD Elements instead however it is currently max 5TB and in high demand hence higher price.

Think this drive has SMR which means it's slow as and only really good for bulk storage. Not much good for a working drive. None in any of the Glasgow stores anyway.

Being able to gameshare with a mate and buy from cheaper regions means I have saved myself so much money and played games I never would have bothered with too

how easy is it to take the drive out of these? would these be good for nas?

usually the drives are not NAS drives but if you just want to fill up your NAS with cheap drives, this could be good if you can open it without damaging the disk inside... interested in this quesiton too!

But 4GB, is 4GB?, and 6GB, is 6GB right? (there's a notable/sizable 2GB difference here?).
Hardware limitations MAY or may NOT apply between the 2 here?, or ..... (personally, I have no idea?) :-)
