All colours available unlike the recent super hot deal for the Gold device at £405! Choose the 3GB Plan at £59.99 upfront and £35.50 per month to achieve the best value for money on this O2 Refresh plan.

Step by step guide for this deal
- - -
1) Follow the get deal button, purchase the £35.50 + £14*24 tariff.
2) Receive your brand new phone and sim card.
3) Put the sim card into your phone and go onto myO2 (app or website) and from there request the unlock code.
4) Call 202 from the same sim card as it will make things much easier, go straight to the I want to leave o2 department or something like that (I think it's thinking of leaving us? Press something) as that will connect you with the right people much quicker.
5) Tell the person you want to pay your device in full and cancel the airtime. They will ask you why, tell them you don't think the airtime is a good value for money, but you want to keep the phone because you think it's an outstanding value for money. They will ask you for card details, you tell those details and that's it, they cancel it for you in about an hour.
6) You own the phone from that point, assumed that you have done this straightaway, there won't be any charges, otherwise you will have to pay as much airtime as you have used.
7) Unlock code will come through in about 2 to 48 hours.
:sunglasses: In first month they might take the airtime from your bank account through direct debit because they generate the bill the next day you apply for a contract, don't be scared as this will be refunded the next month, if not, call them again.

Many people have taken advantage of refresh offers in the past, myself included. This is a great price for this device if you want it now!

I did a refresh deal a couple of weeks ago on a samsung S2 8in tablet and it all went perfectly. Unlocked in 1.5 hours device paid off and airtime cancelled without any hassle at all. The tablet ended up costing me £129ish and its fabulous. My device was a 'refurb as new' but had only been originally activated 4 weeks earlier. When I quizzed the o2 guy about that he said the majority were just 14 day returns but I suppose that was just pot luck. I'd recommend this route if the device and price suits.

Yes, you'll need to pay off the device plan in full so the airtime can be cancelled at the same time.

Don't know what your circumstances are, but you could perhaps get a willing parent / relative / good friend to pay for it upfront, then repay him/her monthly.

If you buy this and it has O2 startup, it will be carrying their custom s/w build. This means that you'll be subject to their s/w release plans and not Samsung's or the carrier you eventually choose.

It also means that the device may not be compatible with some features on your eventual chosen network.

Just something to consider when buying a device to use on another network.

The last major price difference with this phone was almost 4 months ago when a deal was posted for £490. That deal reached 896 degrees which reflects how good this deal is. It may well go down to £300 in another 4 months but that's to be expected considering the value of phones depreciates as we approach the launch of a newer model.

Might be a silly question but would it not be worth using quidco and getting £80 cash back ? It states payout by October so would it not be worth paying the line rental of £14 for 2 months just to get the £80 ? your paying interest free on the handset anyway so it comes off the phone either way but all your losing out on is £28 on line rental over 2 months but gaining £80 cashback making it £52 profit which makes the phone then only £343.99 or am i missing something ?
wenttoabetterplace to dtlewis28
23 Aug 16 1 #81
Even if it ran to 5 months before you got cashback, you'd still make a Quidco profit - and have an O2 line for all that time (with the free unlocking benefits that come with it).

So yes - worth a punt...but just don't expect a fast O2 payout on Quidco.

Yes that what happened no other check or credit for almost a year prior I had applied for. O2 refresh deals are made of two parts one conventional mobile operator service credit check and the other one is a short term loan ( phone on this case) this is exclusive to O2 refresh, you can google it for more info. And this should show on your credit report.

aymanhd
23 Aug 16 #90

wenttoabetterplace
23 Aug 16 #91
Even at £21.50 per month on top, you would still be able to keep the line running for 3.5 months and still make a few extra coin.

If Quidco pay out within the 2 months they say they will, then you will make a profit of £37 or so - and have an O2 line running that'll allow you to unlock as many handsets as you like during that time.
wenttoabetterplace
23 Aug 16 #93
I did misinterpret the airtime costs (the other poster said it was £14 p/m for the airtime part of the contract). Even at £21.50 per month for the airtime, it still makes sense to give Quidco a shot....particularly if you can make use of the O2 airtime and/or the opportunity to unlock O2 handsets for free.

Quidco cashback will give you profit as long as it pays out within 3.5 months...
wenttoabetterplace

23 Aug 16 #96
Thanks,

I know it shouldn't bother me, I know it's not rational. I just find branding very annoying in general. But then I also know if someone said I'll give you £100 off the phone if you have to look at the o2 logo for a second when you turn it on it's a no brainier.

23 Aug 16 1 #99
Does it still use TouchWizz - is it still awful?

I see a lot of S7 users on the tube during my daily commute. Most of them seem to have bought a Ferrari to go shopping, i.e. they just play Candy Crush. Admittedly, it's quick and lag free..
itsjustme
23 Aug 16 #100
Been thinking about it, I don't think I'm that bothered. At the end of the day it has fantastic reviews running the software it already has on it. Obviously I'd prefer it to have the original Samsung software without any o2 interference but I don't think it's a deal breaker. - Still pondering though.

I think the Ferrari is an unfair comparison, if you dotter around town in a Ferrari it's always going to feel like you are holding it back. The phone is never going to make you feel like you are going to slow or not pushing it enough. For me this will be my first high end phone, it may be my last who knows. I'm not a heavy user but I have got a bit fed up of making do. Having a decent camera to hand all the time will be really nice as well.

Never had a Samsung before either but TouchWizz is supposed to have been greatly improved.
misterleoni
23 Aug 16 #101
You can REALLY easily flash stock firmware to Samsung devices - no rooting required and it doesn't affect the warranty or trigger KNOX. You just need a PC.
misterleoni
23 Aug 16 1 #102
It won't - they delayed it to at least 6 months as there was a raft of people cancelling these Refresh contracts and getting £150 payouts. I did exactly that on the Lumia 1020 deal ages ago.

If you wait for Quidco you'll lose out, unless you actually want to use the airtime.

23 Aug 16 #105
From Quidco T&C for O2 contracts...

"Cashback will only be paid on contracted devices if the plan is active for at least 6 months.
Cashback will not be paid on cancelled contracts."

This was introduced shortly after the 1020 deal on here, where people were effectively getting the device for about £90 after cashback (when it was still a device people were actually buying and which wasn't considered old!).
misterleoni
23 Aug 16 1 #106
As far as I know you'd only lose warranty if it triggered KNOX (which shows that unauthorised software has been put on there, for example if you've rooted the device and put a custom ROM on there).

Look on XDA Developers if you want to go down the root of flashing stock firmware. I won't 'advise' that anyone does it, as if you don't read the instructions properly you could break your phone; but I did it with an S7E (and previous devices) and it worked perfectly - OTA updates all working and no sign in the bootloader that anything had been touched, since the software is official Samsung anyway.

I've spoken to two assistants via live chat trying to request they re-send the order confirmation emails but seem to be getting no where. They confirm the order and say I'll get an email on dispatch ( which will be Friday).

That's reassuring, as it turns out I maybe didn't so much as type my email address incorrectly as just make one up completely.... I went from the S7 Edge to the S7 as I kept catching the screen accidentally, found it a bit too big and I also hated the lack of decent screen protectors. You can at least get something *ok* for the S7; the Edge is either rubbery screen protectors, glass that doesn't come even CLOSE to the edge and which you catch your finger on, or curved ones that only stick at the edges and that cause dust ingress and a rainbow effect, as well as nuking screen responsiveness.

Thanks OP, ordered this earlier today and had around 10 e-mails from o2 with various literature. Seems like a bit of an over kill.
Looking at some of the conditions, I hope they don't charge the £465.99 to buy the handset outright which is what I will be doing. The deal comes in handy for me, been scraping by with an S4 mini for the last 4 years and it's on it's last legs.

4.1 Total amount of credit ( “Amount of Credit” ) is: £336.00
4.2 The total amount you will have to pay: £395.99
4.3 The cash price(s) (the amount you would pay to £465.99

I got an iphone 6 for £180 recently so its a great way to get a cheap phone
One word of warning O2 are a pain in the ass when cancelling your contract. I did everything the right way as described but had a mare afterwards with O2 taking payments after cancelling the airtime contract.
After numerous attempts over a month and hours on the phone and chat online myself being told the refund was on its way i had to get the bank to recover the £600 they took without permission!
As soon as you recive your phone and have paid up your device plan cancel the direct debit!.
tamaru to kp2k

I've read people advising the exact opposite, saying they ran into problems when they cancelled their direct debit themselves rather than allowing O2 to do it through their process.

Still no emails despite being promised them again - customer service is almost enough reason to cancel the airtime contract even if I hadn't intended to.

Another question to anyone that has already got one, does it come with a charger. I know o2 don't typically supply chargers with their phones and wondering if I need to pick one up.

I've messaged O2 and searched a bit online, and from the sound of it you cannot be refunded the first month of airtime. How can I guarantee that it'll be refunded?

I've spoken to LC and the operator stated they will be despatched tomorrow and I should receive it tomorrow as it's coming via UKMail.

"In first month they might take the airtime from your bank account through direct debit because they generate the bill the next day you apply for a contract, don't be scared as this will be refunded the next month, if not, call them again."

The above happened to me as well (different Refresh deal), but when I queried it - as I had used no airtime whatsoever - using online chat, they refunded me.

True, there are no guarantees with the refund, but if you do everything right from your side, you'll have everything in your favour to make the best argument & have the best chance of getting it refunded. Also, if one refuses, try another CS person another day. Be persistent & polite & you should get there in the end.

I've ordered a Spigen neo hybrid case for mine. Screen protectors are a total nightmare to get because the glass is curved at the edges (even on the "flat" version") so your protector either has to be shaped to fit, or only cover the flat part of the glass which looks a little daft.

These seem to be some of the only ones that get a decent review,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Galaxy-S7-Screen-Protector-Glass-Full-Screen-Coverage-AmFilm-Bye-Bye-Bubble-/331911981753?hash=item4d477eeab9:g:PJ8AAOSwsTxXjMkR

Youtube review here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwmZQXo9V5w

I've taken my chances and ordered a cheaper version which appears to be a copy and hopefully is the same design. Whether the protector then fits with the case which rolls of the edge of the screen is another question...

Probably not, the glass on the phone should be about as tough as is possible. But it's a big purchase for me and I intend to wrap it in as much cotton wool as possible. I asked Spigen why their glass screen protectors for the S7 weren't available in the UK but got no informative response.

I've never owned or really used an iphone so I might be talking nonsense. But from what I've seen it's better implemented in android. It shows you what you actually typed, what it is going to replace it with if you hit the space button and another suggestion. And if one doesn't work for you you just install a different one. I'm using SwiftKey ( I thought you could get it for the iphone too though), I rarely use the swipe keyboard function but I like the keyboard layout much better than what came with my phone. It does regularly freak me out by managing to predict whole sentences for me though just from the first word. I don't think I'm I that predictable? :disappointed:

I spoke with 02 today and they just offered me:--

Option1 : Samsung S7 would be for £ 45.25/ month ( Device : £ 19 ; Airtime : £ 26.25 after discount of 25% ) with an upfront cost of £ 9.99 and so after the first bill you would have to pay £437

Option2 : Samsung S7 would be for £ 49.99/ month ( Device : £ 14 ; Airtime : £ 26.25 after discount of 25% ) with an upfront cost of £ 59.99 and so after the first bill you would have to pay £322

P.S: i was told you cannot get a refund for the airtime for the first month. Even if you don't use any?

I just did this for an iPhone 6S 128GB.

Some notes:

1. O2 charged me airtime from when I placed the order to when I cancelled. I ordered on a Friday and cancelled on Monday so they charged me Fri-Tue which was less than £5.

2. They billed me for the phone again after I'd paid it (because I cancelled the airtime). They refunded this.

Everything else went through perfectly.

I phoned customer services and said I want to unlock my phone, then put through to the IVR and it provided me an 8 digit unlock code there and then.
However I've since tried this after putting in my Three sim card in and it's rejecting the code. Customer services are now sending some kind of form off for me however they've said I'll hear back within 7 days. Surely it can't be that difficult to unlock a phone.
To top it off, I had trimmed my micro sim down to a nano sim on my existing contract to fit the s7, so this will not fit in my old phone anymore. Nightmare journey so far I'm afraid.

Call 202 once or twice from your new SIM just to make the SIM active (you aren't charged for calls to O2 from the SIM), then the ability to request the unlock code online via MyO2 should become available, request it, and then finally call 202 from the O2 SIM and ask to be put through to cancellations and they should do it for you with no hassle.

No splash screen - just stock Samsung it would seem. There doesn't seem to be much bloatware either, and everything seems delete-able, which is great!

The nearest depot is about 50 mile away. Even I'm not that desperate for it. I have absolutely no faith it will turn up this evening though despite O2 assuring it me it will.

My new case has arrived though, so I can put it in my pocket and pretend I have a new phone I guess.

To re-cap my understanding. They obviously have some O2 apps and bloatware, and yes that means delayed software updates. On the plus side there is no splash screen it's the original Samsung start up. There supposedly relatively easy ways to change it to stock firmware ( google odin) which don't require root and shouldn't void the warranty. But you'd have to decide if it's worth the risk.

Which case did you go for? I've got the Spigen Slim Armor arriving tomorrow via Prime
I've not received my unlock code yet. I think I'd rather have the case before the phone!

I was going to go for the 200gb Sandisk for £56.99 (NUS Amazon). But have only used 20gb on my current 64gb, it would just seem like a waste.

It's the Neo Hybrid, looks like a nice case. Ordered via Spigen on eBay yesterday and arrived today. Can't complain, although I did when they tried to tell me it wouldn't arrive until mid-September. Not sure what was going on there.

Every phone I buy I buy a bigger sd card, and everytime I use exactly the same amount of space. I think, at least for a while I'll be sensible and stick with my old 32GB.

File sizes for pictures isn't all that bad - anywhere between 2MB and 5MB for any I've taken so far, so a 64GB card should do you fine for that.
4K video on the other hand will chew through your storage in no time... I've dropped down to 1080p for that as the quality isn't all that amazing, and you miss out on some of the stabilising tech etc that's only available at 1080p and below.

Are there any recommended screen protectors for this? I've been using my phones naked for years now, but dropped my spare phone the other week and seriously cracked the glass. I've ordered a Spigen neo hybrid as well, so need to find a tempered glass protector that'll work with that.

I don't know if it will work, but the video says over it that it works with some spigen cases, I can't really see why it wouldn't work with the Neo Hybrid, especially in it's two part design, but who knows.

No phone :disappointed: Live chat is so frustrating, they just seem to tell you what you want to hear to make you leave and you end up going round in circles. No phone until Tuesday now it seems. Customer service is enough to make me never get an O2 contract. And they seem utterly oblivious to the fact that it's not acceptable to say,

"Please stay assured about this, we've taken the appropriate steps to ensure you get the delivery today"

When it turns out they had never even heard from the courier.

And what is it that companies have against a proper email address. Rant over, for now.

The thing is though I don't want to make too much of a fuss in case it complicates things further when cancelling the airtime.

Mine turned up on schedule on Friday, took 24 mins on hold to get through to cancellations but then all paid off at £336 ,airtime cancelled and phone unlocked. No attempt to try and get me to stay , very straightforward, although I had phoned using their sim and by cancelling the airtime it cut the line immediately even though I was still speaking to the guy, luckily payment had been taken by then and I've had email confirmation. Some people have complained it has impacted their credit history / profile negatively, even though they paid off everything within a few days.

Some have also been cancelling the direct debit themselves & this has also had a negative impact apparently. In other words, rather than trusting O2 to do it from their side, which is ok from a credit point of view.

Just did this today... Purchased online, phone in hand the same day (via store collection) and contract cancelled within a matter of hours.

Followed the steps, but couldn't request the unlock code on the app or website as it kept flagging up an error. Requested the unlock through the online form instead (https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form) and the code was sent within 10mins. Old sim in phone and boom, phone unlocked.

Then a quick call to o2 with a baffled retentions officer ("oh so you've had the contract since.... TODAY?!") later... DONE!

VERY HOT! THANKS!

Well I got mine, finally, in UK Mail's defence the driver was genuinely lost, and took a lot of time to find me yesterday. Not in their defence is the fact the postcode was correct and should have taken him to where he needed to be.

Unlock code arrived minutes after filling in the online form so this seems to be the quickest way. I still couldn't access it on myO2. Paid off device and cancelled airtime in a 5 minute phone call and this all seems to have went fine. Now just waiting to see what I'm charged for when I get the final bill. I was assured that the airtime contract would be changed to start when the phone arrived but I believe very little of what O2 live assistants tell me now.

Happy with the phone though, and bloatware does indeed seem to be very minimal. My glass screen protector did not work with my case though :disappointed: So if anyone has found combinations which do work please let us know.

Hello ppl

I wanted to share my experience with o2 refresh and the effect on my credit score.

When the galaxy s6 was posted, I grabbed 2 contracts in my name and a third on another family members name within 2 days. It went through without a problem. But that was the limit as my brother's were unable to get a contract for them on the same refresh deal (their credit score is really good btw). The response on the website said they use various methods to decide on giving their contacts.

So the limit was 3 on one address it seems. At least for the that week when we tried.

My credit score before purchasing these contracts was 995. After purchase it dropped to 965

Hope this helps

Only Device plan needs paying off, so only pay attention to the "Total amount payable for device" section under 'More details'. In this deal, £395.99 is the lowest (i.e. £59.99 + £14 x24).

If you're not sure when selecting an option (for this or any other O2 Refresh deal), post the details & someone can take a look for you.

crossbow than you.

mine is actually for an IPhone 6s plus. just thinking about doing. needed for daughters birthday; currently on EE for another year; but by far O2 Refresh is best price for the handset.

Assume they do unlock 6s plusses. do you do the unlock before or after paying off the device plan; does it matter?
Crossbow
31 Aug 16 #307
EDIT: Sorry, ignore this as it's for the 6 Plus, not 6s Plus - corrected in next post below...

No problem, the 20GB data & £29.99 upfront deal is coming up as cheapest for me (is it for you as well?)...

£29.99 + £18 x24 = £461.99 (total payable) via:

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/tariff/apple/iphone-6-plus/?productId=9d0aaf94-bcd2-49d0-9e0c-3f060379dae9&planId=&contractType=paymonthly

Before is preferable.

Also, for iPhones, the unlock method is slightly different (from Android phones) - you need to put the SIM they send in the phone & make a call (of at least 10 secs) using the same phone - this is to activate its IMEI on their system.

Then visit O2's online unlock webpage to unlock your phone for free, or you can also call them for the same on 202 for free from the phone.

Once the phone is unlocked successfully, ring 02 on 202 and tell them you want to pay off the Device Plan (DP) & also cancel the Airtime (A). Make sure they have done it properly, & to send you a confirmation email (so it's in writing) saying the same - that DP is paid in full & A is completely cancelled - & that no further money is owed to them. You may be charged a small amount for the Airtime you've used before the unlock code came through.

P.S. Finally, a few days later, call them again to confirm that everything's been taken care of & that you don't owe them any money (except what I said above).

Has anybody flashed firmware to non-o2? Ive done a proper search and have the following conclusions:
1) o2 deliver updates faster than other networks so minimal benefit here
2) Stock (BTU) firmware offers no major benefits other than removing splash screen
3) Swapping to another network firmware (e.g. Vodafone) enables WiFi calling with them, however only if you also change the CSC of the phone (and this requires root to change - you can un-root after that and it shouldnt be detectable)

Hence swapping to another firmware or stock, offers basically no benefit (other than splash screen) - whilst it is easy using Odin, and totally risk free. Changing the CSC to match another firmware (mainly relevant for Vodafone to do WiFi calling) requires root and then installing CSC Switcher, before installing the same firmware again which will return it to non-root.

Dont think I am going to bother unless somebody else has another reason....?

You still paid in full for the device, so should have at least a year's warranty - I couldn't see anywhere in their terms (checked the finer terms as well), that once airtime is cancelled, a brand new phone (or otherwise) that has been paid off in full loses its warranty.

Also see: Our returns and repairs policy

I would post in their forum to see what they have to say.

And also contact Samsung, although they will be right in directing you back to O2, as the retailer is really responsible for the warranty. You may have a good case here though, because the retailer is not honouring the warranty, so definitely worth contacting Samsung for help.

I'm not super excited by the phone either. Coming from a Chinese model which cost 10 times less I was expecting more from a flagship given all the hype it has received.

Saying that, it's nice, it's fast, it's never put a foot wrong and the photos I got of my nephew on his first birthday when previously I'd have had none are probably worth the £400 themselves.

Sold mine, battery life would drop 10 percent in hours just sitting there doing nothing. Great camera though but for me my sony Z3 compact is far better for my needs. itsjustme
10 Sep 16 #340
If you are being literal about it just sitting there something wasn't working right. Android's Doze means mine is dropping less than 5% overnight. I haven't really had any issues with the battery, I mean it's not going to compare to a Z3 but it easily gets me through the day and is about on par with what I was expecting. I am in the position where I can charge it regularly though and have generally been following the advice to keep the battery between 40 and 80% when you can.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been feeling a little meh about it though.

The screen is really bright, but I didn't really appreciate or notice extra sharpness. The camera is better than my Z3C and Note 3, but not by a mile. The FP scanner is useful but a minor inconvenience in day to day use.

It's slippery. The speaker is poor. Overall it just didn't wow me, and the actual screen size didn't really make it a better phone to read on than the Z3C etc. Yellowy tinge to screen and no lanyard. Barely nippier than the Z3C either

My thoughts exactly, gad I am not on my own. The Z3 compact is just perfect for me.

hmmm, ordered and cancelled airtime as per OP instructions. Paid off device, letter received confirming phone paid off. o2 bill received today totalling £412 early termination fee....."there may be trouble ahead"
aymanhd
12 Sep 16 #346
I too had completed the same process, and I've been billed the first month's payment, which I was told would be refunded, but am still waiting, and now have a £408.97 bill for early termination fee and something else. Looking forward to the livechat that's currently in progress. I like how they say there's nothing else for you to do or whatever, then charge you many many times.

Spoke to Live Chat and go the following response:
Ayman, I can see that you have mistakenly charged for the Early termination fees by the system.
Please do not worry I have raised the request to waive of the bill and the new bill will be generated within next 3 working days with the waive.

The final bill will be of zero value.

12 Sep 16 #347
I still haven't received anything bill wise. Did yours come by email too or post?

I'm dreading having to try and sort out anything else with live chat. It seems they really politely tell you that they have sorted your problem only for absolutely nothing to have been done. Definitely not a fan of O2 customer service.

I fail to see how a system can be blamed for making a mistake which goes against their terms and conditions...
LadyLuck
12 Sep 16 #348
Called and they said much same as u were told - with the exception that I will possibly still be charged the £412 as that bill has been raised, and will have to wait for the refund to be processed thereafter. Also see that I have been charged the £21.50 airtime too - so guess yet another call for that one. :disappointed:
aymanhd
12 Sep 16 #349
I like using live chat because then I have all their replies already in writing. If I have any issues, I can bring it up with them straight away as I have a chat transcript. They seem to be okay so far, I would prefer to not have to deal with the issues at all, but it's a service I'm happy to use.

14 Sep 16 #350
I've just had my 'final bill' and am £18.73 in credit. I don't know how they think I used £2.77 worth of network... So I'll be back on to livechat for that.
itsjustme
14 Sep 16 #351
Better than £409.32 (I have no idea how it is exactly that amount). Also off to live chat...

How did you get on? I've got my new final bill and it's £16.64 in credit... seems like a lot for less than a days usage.

anyone bought decent screen protector or tempered glass protector I'm not using any at the moment got casemate back cover
itsjustme
17 Sep 16 #356
I've had no luck with screen protectors in combination with my Spigen case :disappointed:

My first glass one worked on it's own and looked OK, didn't halo but popped off as soon as the case was on. The second was only supposed to cover the flat part of the screen but didn't stick down at the sides so much that it looked ridicules (Got my money back for that one).

So I've come to the conclusion that glass is out. My 3rd attempt was a TPU one off ebay, they are a nightmare to apply but are edge to edge and you wouldn't know they were on to look at them. However, the first I destroyed by wiping it down with Isopropyl alcohol. The second is currently on and looking good but very very slowly working it's way off at the edges, I presume because of the case.

So if anyone has any other suggestions I'd be keen to hear them, I was not happy when after a very short time period and very careful use I noticed some small scratches on the supposedly super tough screen.

17 Sep 16 #357
thanks I think may be companies need to start shipping phones with screen protector on or companies think everyone uses flip cases I'm not a fan of flip csses
for s7 not seen much choice I'm going to leave it without protector hopefully it will be ok

Just had an email from O2 stating that payments are now overdue on my account. :disappointed:

Apparently it's just another system error!

Same... And I've never received the credited amount back into my account, and there is no sign of the £5 goodwill gestures I was told I would receive.

What a completely useless company.

I've had the £18.77 back to my account, but not the £2.73. You've reminded me, so I'll get on Livechat and see when this is going to happen.
aymanhd

They denied all knowledge of the £2.77. I gave them all the details, and apparently it's been escalated again. I have spoken to them about 10 times in the last month.

I've been told the email was a mistake and that the £16.64 plus the extra £5 will arrive in my bank account soon.

Frankly don't really trust a word they say.

So I'm guessing this is no longer available? Or would I just have to pay a bit more? I'm new to this o2 refresh deal... Any idea what the cheapest way to get this would be otherwise?

£409.99 for a 'like new' Edge version on O2 Refresh:
https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/tariff/samsung/galaxy-s7-edge-like-new/?productId=1bd62351-4f79-448e-898c-800f2fe095b5&planId=&contractType=paymonthly

Choose one of the £49.99 upfront deals:
£49.99 (upfront) + 15 x24 (pay off device plan) + 0 x24 (cancel airtime plan) = £409.99 grand total

Standard S7 version 'almost perfect' is £360-370, so not great over this brand new £395.99 price:

£480 seems to be the best from a proper UK retailer currently (marketplace sellers though) - Amazon

~£400 after discount coupon (£5.99) & Quidco £8 via a non-UK source:
http://www.eglobalcentral.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s7-g930fd-32gb-dual-sim-4g-lte-sim-free-unlocked-silver.html

Be aware the 2nd option may incur Customs VAT & duty, so not worth it if it does. Plus the warranty won't be valid in the UK most likely. If you take the risk & go down this route, make sure to use a credit card only to purchase.

eGlobalcentral are legit, but pray nothing goes wrong with the phone, as their customer support is completely useless:

I ended up buying a new case yesterday, the Spigen one was too slippy, and had no button definition :disappointed:
itsjustme
20 Oct 16 #368
Well in contrast, I really like the neo-hybrid case, it has a grippy back and no problems with the buttons at all. Nice to hold and makes my phone feel well protected.

What have you gone for instead?
aymanhd
21 Oct 16 #369
I bought a Caseology Parallax Series (I don't know why they just can't call it what it is).
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01BE993DU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It has better buttons, but a smaller charging cable cut out, which is annoying, so I might end up getting the Neo Hybrid at some point. Perhaps I should have just got that in the first place. Instead of ending up paying £43 quid for a case I like... (£14.99, £9.99, and the inevitable £17.99 that I'll probably spend on the Neo-Hybrid)...

At least it's still better than the extortionate prices they charge in store for cases!
