Non removable battery makes these phones throwaway consumables after a year or two when the battery quality fails. The whole reason I go for Samsung over IPhone was because of the easily replaceable battery. I'm sticking with my Note 4. Cold from me. That's the biggest load of misinformation I've seen for some time. What nonsense! I work in I.T. Refurbishment and we refurbish a large amount of phones, whilst a clueless n00b couldn't replace the battery on their Galaxy S6,S7,Note 7 etc, the batteries can definitely be replaced by any independent phone trader with a good reputation and it won't cost a fortune.

Still frustrating as hell when after 12-18 months of use your phone or tablet is only holding about 60% of its original charge and dependant upon its charging lead almost whenever it's not being used. Our Moto G gen 2 still a good phone but the battery is dead in about 3 hours of web use or videos. Our tablets, one under 12 months are dependant on the power cords as the batteries degraded so quickly.
master10

Batteries can still be replaced, you are making it out as if they are glued in with miracle glue. Most can still be simply removed within 10 minutes and replaced. By no means are they disposable after two years.

McHotpoon
20 Aug 16 #89
No but they don't make it easy, warranty seals can need breaking, often anti static recommended and really annoying when you find security torx screws smaller than the set you have.... oh and yes they can get very glue happy with the bigger tablet batteries.... I will replace batteries but really would prefer it made easy or batteries that will hold a useful charge after a year of daily use were used for the sake of a few mm, grams and dollars. Let's hope solid energy get in full swing so we can all have 4ah batteries in the space of our 3ah tiddlers.
leelukehope
20 Aug 16 #90
Yeah I get that, I use an iPhone 6. iPhone batteries are easy to replace but most android phones either have the batteries soldered or the battery isn't easily sourced. It matters because a phone with a removable battery holds its value much better than ones that don't. I spend a lot on my iPhone because I know when I upgrade, it will have held its value well and I won't lose much when selling. Then there's the convenience of just being able to swap batteries...
leelukehope
20 Aug 16 #91
They aren't glued with miracle glue but unless you're confident with a solder iron, the phone isn't user replaceable. HTC have been my favourite android phones for years but I won't touch them because I know how difficult it is to source and replace the battery without damaging the phone.

Just in case people were wondering why this costs more than your OnePlus Three at £300, and also so that people stop posting ignorant "this is not worth X" posts, here's a list of things as to why the Galaxy Note7 is the best phone right now, and is looking to be for a while:

* The best smartphone camera. The same as the S7 Edge, which has the best autofocus in any smartphone in the world right now - http://www.dxomark.com/Mobiles
* On top of the best sensor, AND the best autofocus, it also has one of the widest, if not the widest angle lens on a smartphone at 24mm. That means you get more in the picture. The same applies to its front facing camera.
* With the stylus, which apparently also works under water, it's a key selling feature for a lot of people, the first ever device you can take notes with while in the bath/shower. Funny? I thought so too, until I mentioned this to several people I know and they would actually find that VERY useful. And they've also improved it, significantly. By the way, the stylus is NOT a gimmick. Samsung own 5% of Wacom http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-wacom-152619/
* The first phone to have Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Designed to withstand falls at shoulder length 80% of the time. That's some form of insurance right there.
* Top of the range Exynos 8890 mobile CPU, while may not totally beat the Snapdragon 820, it doesn't share the vulnerabilities of the Snapdragon devices, and lasts longer than the SnapDragon 820 - http://wccftech.com/security-exploits-put-snapdragon-powered-devices-at-risk-of-hacking/
* Those complaining about the battery, you can get the Official Backpack Case which adds protection AND and extra 3100mAh to the life of the device. It does this via wireless charging technology. Effectively, the Galaxy Note7 has 6600mAh of juice with it. That's awesome.
* I love my music and the only site that benchmarks audio quality is GSMarena and they give FULL marks to the audio quality of this device (which has a 3.5mm jack, in case those waiting for the iPhone7 are wondering). This is a pet peeve of mine with regards to smartphones. LG shot themselves in the mouth for not releasing the V10 (best 2015 phone) in the UK, especially after the G4 bootloader problem, and now the G5 modular issue. here's the audio review http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note7-review-1478p9.php

That's just off the top of my head. Even without the Gear VR, or a 256GB MicroSD, this is a proper PREMIUM smartphone and each and every point I listed above warrants the premium price it has.

So unless your OnePlus 3 has ALL of the above (an AWESOME phone in its own right, yeah it does have that USB-C, wish it was properly implemented though) then it would be best to keep quiet and let people have their fun.

This is a good deal. Very have been okay for me, I rate them 3/5 for their service. They're basically good as long as nothing goes wrong.

If it does, then make sure you quickly start to document and make a journal of your issue (this is enough for many to steer clear of them). I spent 6 weeks dealing with a laptop issue with them. They kept sending me the wrong specs for the laptop I ordered (I ordered an i5, kept sending me a Celeron), I received and returned a total of 5 laptops LOOOL (actually it wasn't funny at the time).

Other times, deliveries have been swift, and returns painless with the local Collect+ drop off point. Make sure you don't open the item, as they won't accept it.

1. iPhone 7 unreleased
2. iPhone 7 won't have 2012 specification which is a definite exaggeration
3. Apple control the hardware and software optimisation, which is why an iPhone 6 battery lasts a lot longer than my Galaxy S6 battery.
4. Bashing Apple because it's 'cool' to do so but not on merit

I don't own an iPhone because I prefer Android for use on a phone, although if an equivalent to Airdroid app was on IOS I'd consider changing.

AMOLED burn in is a definite problem. This also happens on OLED TV's to some extent. I haven't seen any OLED monitors yet, I guess no one would like the Start Menu or OSX dock burnt in to their monitor display

The only OLED monitor I know of is the forthcoming Dell 30" OLED Monitor >

"Dell has further claimed that it has mitigated burn in on this monitor by implementing a “pixel shifting algorithm” as well as placing a sensor on the monitor that can detect when you are looking at it and turn off when no one is watching anything on it "

I understand that some people want removable batteries, and won't spend more than £68 on a phone from Banggood but PLEASE don't feel the need to tell us all how stupid we are for not wanting to buy the same phones as you.

Sure, spending £600 on a phone is ridiculous if you can't afford to; but what if you *want* to? what if you *enjoy* buying the latest phones, and what if you *can* afford to do it?

By the same token, why do people feel the need to **** off iPhone buyers and snark about how out of date they are? Just live and let live. If you aren't interested in iPhones, just ignore the iPhone post and accept that it's not for you; if you aren't interested in the Note 7 because it doesn't have a removable battery or because it's ten times more expensive than a Doogee Versailles (or some other random crap from Gearbest) then fine...but don't feel the need to enlighten anyone because anyone who is interested in buying the Note 7 is simply looking for the best price and not to be preached about how much they should be spending on phones.

I'm not buying one but there are plenty of other products on the market that are a far bigger rip-off than phones. The beautiful thing about life is that we can pay what we want for things: we can shop at Waitrose or we can shop at Aldi...hell, we can even shop at Heron Foods if the mood takes us.

The underlying point though is this: I shop at Aldi as I find Waitrose too expensive; but I don't hang around outside Waitrose telling people what mugs they are for spending over the odds, because it's their money and their prerogative.

Same with this. If you want to buy a second-hand phone or a phone for half the price then go ahead - that's why the market for those phones exists. This is a higher-priced market though, and it exists for those who want an (arguably) more premium experience, a better warranty and slightly better hardware (no matter how marginal you think that is). If it wasn't Samsung or Apple selling for high prices it would be someone else because where a market exists someone will come in to exploit it.

The fact is that some people have disposable income that they enjoy spending.

I have been a Note user since the Note 2 was released. I then upgraded to the Note 3 and 4. The lack of memory expansion put me off buying the 5, so I got the LG V10. I remember purchasing my Note 4 on the day of release direct from Samsung for £630. Considering that the Note 7 is available from Very at near the same price makes this deal hot for me. I did however pre order the Note 7 from Samsung last week for £740. They claimed the GearVR headset was bundled free.

21 Aug 16 #115
IP68 which can withstand dust dirt and sand and stay 1.5m under water for 30mins.
Can withstand water too.
Hope that helps.

21 Aug 16 #116
Thanks for pointing this out!! O2 don't bundle the VR anymore.
Plus the phone from Samsung won't have any o2 apps which is good.

Actually. . I don't think you can preorder from Samsung ...
"Lots of people want the Note7......more than we have right now.
But you can still pre-order at these retailers." ... translation : we are out of stock

That scratch test video, lack of easy battery cover replacement (how I upgraded my SGS3 and Note 4 batteries after a year or two) and no IR blaster is putting me off this phone. Love the design and waterproofness, I think I am going to hang fire and will hopefully get a Galaxy X next year at some point!!

Alot for a phone upfront buy a VERY good price.

21 Aug 16 #120
I believe it was £740 on the online Samsung Store with the Gear VR

Not sure what they're saying in actual brick and mortar Samsung Stores

Carphone Warehouse have it at £699 but with no Gear VR

I want the Gear VR so figured this Very price would allow me to get the phone and Gear VR for less than I could buy it from Samsung themselves

Especially if I can get a brand new sealed Gear VR on eBay when folk punt theirs on
kremix
21 Aug 16 #121
question is: will it still be water proof? or are they being sealed back on?

Guys, ordered blue note 7 from Very for 633. Some doubts about very. Do you think they will sell new, genuine unopened UK made new Note 7? They did mention deliver by date as 26th on the website but the order confirmation shows it will be delivered by 24th. Whats happening guys. Why are they taking so long to deliver while others are shipping the phone in 2 days from now. Do you think I should trust this seller?

24th and 26th August ?
I don't think any suppliers would have had stock by then. I have been told that carphonewarehouses will be releasing preorder stock on 30th and 31st August.

Well you carry your good PC on you back (with generator), go out as long as your phone cable can take you, Carry TV in front of you, SLR around your neck.. How exciting !! :P

Infact I am selling all of the above one by one, to fund my phone which I can carry in my pocket, stays with me almost 24x7 and can do a near decent job of all the above  No brainer mate.

phanikirankara
7 Sep 16 #161
Same here, received the below email form very.co.uk

Dear Phani,

We're contacting you regarding your order for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
Due to a safety issue identified with the battery on this item, Samsung have temporarily halted sales and we just wanted to assure you that you will not receive one of the affected products.

As soon as Samsung release the new stock we will send yours out to you – we expect this to be in October.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

Yours sincerely,

xxxxxxxxxxx

Should be back to pre order soon, price hike is a classic Very trick, on certain items they up the price to make the code redundant then after the code expires they will reduce the price but class it as a "sale" price meaning future codes won't be valid.

Shame as I was planning on bagging one when they had stock.
phanikirankara
5 Oct 16 #175
Hmm some people used 2 codes and got the phone for 590 pounds. I am atleast a bit happy that I ordered while the price was 699 and got it for 629. But what I saw is that the 10% offer was valid from long long time now. Atleast from past 3 months in one form or the other.
