I did two identical shops at the same time online; one Sainsburys and one Tesco. The price difference for an £80 shop was a couple of pence. Sainsburys also had the better variety, stocking other items that Tesco didn't have. Only supermarkets that are truly cheaper than the rest are Aldi, Lidl et al

Sainsburys is the worst and most expensive supermarket at the moment. Tesco and Asda are the best places to shop they are the cheapest and most items are on sales and Iceland is another one who has price cuts everyday.

Regardless of price, the last time I used Asda (and it will be the last!), ten of 30 items were missing, not in stock, and I had to shop the same day! Best part of a year of using Sainsbury on the last mid week only offer (£15), only had ONE item not in stock!

Really? I've tried them all and found the quality of the meat at ASDA to be horrendous! Wouldn't feed to the dog, if i had one! :smirk:

Great deal, I managed to bag the same deal at Tesco for £15 of points and doubling up.

Asda are awful for us, so many subs it's unreal, used Sainsbury's a few times and been happy.
Obviously everyone's experience is going to be different, depends on who's packing, driver etc.

Your right Asda do so much subs because they sell more and have more offers on and stock is always running out. Sainsburys have more stock and do less subs because they have less offers and no customers

As da are shockingly bad with their home deliveries, if anyone has any head office phone numbers to chase up my refund (after 6 weeks) I would appreciate it. Thanks for the sainsburys deal I will use it now.

The customer service line is based in Asia somewhere. Quite funny really, order something from your store say 2 miles away and any queries are dealt with a few thousand miles away. The person I spoke to quoted my refund in dollars.

Have to agree with your comment - Asda Customer Service is the worst I've come across. Last week they "forgot" approx. £40 of my order, their customer services helpline are now based in the Philippines, after several phone calls I had to email in a complaint, request a refund..... I'm still waiting.
I have just placed a sainsburys order online for tomorrow delivery... hope they don't let me down!
Thanks OP!

Yes , apparently they are in Sotherton Africa , I got no joy with them, I phoned the a few times said who I was and the manager is far to important to speak to the likes of me , then I phoned up incognito an said I was from the BBC and asked for him as they had won best local store of the year in liverpool and would like to interview him ,low an behold he couldn't get on the phone to me fast enough, it didn't do me any good though I'm still waiting 6 weeks later for a refund , I ring them up now just for a laugh...

Exactly, I routinely buy mainly from Aldi, but buy those items I can't buy there in Sainsburys and get it delivered for precious little, midweek. It's ideal as I am disabled so very large scale shops are a particular problem for me.
I have even had a good number of vouchers over past few months too!
It means I doubt I will be lined up as one of their most profitable customers ;-)

I've tried delivery passes with tesco, sainsburys and now with asda. Asda are shockingly bad - subs on so many essentials like fish and chicken I end up having to go to waitrose to buy for the same day. I will go back to using sainsburys, which admittedly are more expensive but at least they are reliable and very friendly.
