No fill level window, you have to keep pulling the lid off to see how much is in it.

Which recommended. An obvious buy at £10. I have one and can recommend.

If it's the same one I have (which it looks like), this is the noisiest kettle on earth. Buyer beware.

I have it too and can confirm it is very noisy, but boils a cup in 40 seconds. Very happy with it.
Boil just what you need and keep it empty to prevent rust and calcium deposits

Within the kettle there's small plastic 'leaves' which indicate in cup sizes how much water's within the kettle.

I have a Russell Hobbs "Cambridge" kettle that looks just like this (from the angles photographed).
Its a perfectly good kettle and not unusually noisy, especially when descaled.
But it does have a level gauge cleverly incorporated into the plastic handle moulding - not perfect for visibility, but brilliant "design for cost-effective manufacture". It has a different product number (not this 20070).
Really can't understand the idea of making a different version without the level gauge ...

so plastic doesn't contaminate the water

Out of stock. None available in store near me. :disappointed:
Brilliant kettle for making great tasting tea. Unclip and throw away the plastic water gauge from inside the kettle and you have an all metal kettle without any plastic to leach nasty chemicals into your drinks.

Depends on the plastic, not all plastics leech into water.

I have one of these and the switch fell off inside a year.
Can still use poking a spoon into it but didn't think the quality was great.

Horrible kettle - I have one - the lid isn't hinged so you have to take it off to fill, and you have to be really careful when pouring to avoid scalding your hand. I gave mine away.

I don't recommend it as have one at work - it doesn't have a window and when picked up shortly after the water boiled you get a lot of hot steam on your hands...

I had this kettle and after a while the lid started popping off when pouring boiling water. Contacted Russell Hobbs who were not interested in the slightest did not even ask the model. Told me to take it back to where I bought it. Exchanged for a different make without a problem. Retailer was surprised at R-H's indifference bearing in mind I could have been badly burned.

I would also add the handle is ever so slightly loose on mine. I'd class this as a major safety issue so mine is going back. Additionally, for those saying its completely stainless steel inside - what about the lid? The filter?

I received mine and my only complaint is that the flex cable is just too short. It has to sit right by the wall.
