Not voting either way, but I'd be hard pushed to pay more than a tenner for this. It was an outstanding game in it's day, but the controls are a real struggle now. I bought it on Gamecube and then 360, so buying it on yet another platform is a hard sell.
That being said, if you've not played it, and you can stomach old fashioned controls, you are in for a treat. As I say, it was an incredible game in it's day and would be in my top 5 games of all time.

I'd rather game companies milk old full fledged games rather than release games full of microtransactions and dlc that shouldbe /already is on disc hidden behind a pay wall.

I remember the controls being okay. Are they not dual analogue?

Is RE4 the most ported game in history?
This is the third generation of consoles it has came out on.
Plus handhelds, mobile, different PC versions, probably a pachinko machine .... So i'd say yes!

This isn't getting a release in the uk, so is either an error or an import.

This is a remastered version this time at 1080p 60fps and based on GameCube version etc.

Great game and I'd really like to play the HD version but after playing several times on the Wii I just can't seem to get used to playing with a normal controller!

I've got the GameCube and Wii versions so won't be spending more money on RE4 ever again. Anyway, £17 is too much for RE4.

This might be an error. Base normally only sell PAL games. UK only getting digital release as far as I know. Same as RE5 an 6. Unless December we get a physical release just before RE7??

Came out on PSN last night as i waited on preorder.
As far as physical copies i was only aware of an Asian release as biohazard and an american release same as the 'updated' versions of RE5 and RE6.
PlayAsia sell both so id imagine its one of these?

Decided to get this game again having had it disapear over the years as my girlfriend wanted a videogame we could play together which had a good storyline. Not many games have a multiplayer campaign mode so this instantly sprung to mind. The graphics were nicely ahead of their time when the game was first released but in 2016 they do look a little outdated, the controls are also quite bad and remind me of the "Obscure, The Aftermath" PSP game controls which just felt so off. After a while you do get used to the controls but they do feel very 'blocky' and unresponsive.

Resident Evil 5 has a great local co-op campaign game I don't think RE4 has it.
Not sure about RE6 coop campaign too.
Your better off removing your 500GB internal hard drive and replace it with a 2TB it's pretty straightforward and simple. Then you can use that spare 500GB for anything else  Also downloads for me aren't slow maybe because I got great connection and speeds etc. Apparently the PS4 Slim and the Neo will include an even better WiFi chip

Amazon UK and 365Games also sells the same American version import:
This is the American physical version guys, in the UK it's only available digitally just like RE5,6.

digital is such a pain in the hoop in consoles though imo. ive literally not played my ps4 in months due to the hard drives space limitations. such a massive pain in the ass having to delete 50gb games all the time to make room for new ones..then wait hours upon hours for it to download to play it again. literally deleted bf4 with all expansions few months ago then thought aw ill play that again. took about 5 hours to download it all and in the process i had to delete another 50gb game to make room for it. would be great if we could hook an external drive up (like a 5TB) to the ps4 would make it so much better.

I was in same boat as you. Next investment should be upgrade to a 2tb HDD. Very straightforward and only about £70ish
Cherried
30 Aug 161#28
Yeah i think i might have too tbh. i was trying to avoid that as i have that PT demo on this 500gb drive but im gonna have to put a better drive in. its just such an annoyance having to delete games all the time and then redownload them.

Im in the same boat. totally forgot about the PT demo. :disappointed:

No need to delete the games on your hard drive when upgrading it.
Theres a backup feature on PS4 where you can connect a portable hard drive or something and backup games and data you choose.
Then when you install your new hard drive simply connect that again and do the option 'Restore' then you'll get all the games back including PT I done it this way aswell
HaroonMJKL
30 Aug 162#31
It shouldn't be an issue you can copy all your data including games/demos/patches and saves on your current HDD onto an external drive and then copy it onto your new 2TB! So you will still have the PT demo people!!
Cherried
30 Aug 16#33
ah thats brilliant! never knew you could do that eh. looks like ill be buying a 2tb drive then. cheers
Bought a 2TB Seagate on here a little while back for £55 (I think). Removed it from the HDD case and Installed it into my PS4 in 10minutes and everything works flawlessly. Easiest upgrade ever.
Also in terms of Resident Evil 4's control scheme, I think it actually adds to the immersion of the game. The awkward control scheme makes you feel helpless, just like the lack of ammo, constricted aim view and the lack of running whilst aiming etc. Brilliant game.

Game was a piece of cake of Wii btw, that aiming system just ruined the difficultly pacing

I tell you what would have been good, for a re-release on a console two generations on, a proper remake like Resi Evil on Gamecube would have been appreciated. Bring the graphics up to date and add the ability to walk and aim....

I'd appreciate the graphical update but i wonder if adding the ability to aim and move would make it too easy/less tense?

I have the Physical PS4 versions of RE5 & 6, one from Play-Asia and one from Gameseek. Snagged This one from Ebay the other day and waiting on it to come through the door. For some reason Capcom chose not to release them over here on disc. Same deal with the upcoming PS4 versions of Dead Rising 1 & 2. They work without any faff at all on a standard UK PS4 and you can play online without any trouble either. Tbh i'm half expecting them to announce a 4-5-6 triple pack PAL release soon but ah well.
