Not really as my 9 year old son want to play his favourite players and clubs with correct names, correct kit and the correct faces. £36.99 for 12 months of fun is cheap in my book.

Don't buy it it's been proven that if you play FUT and have been spending real money on packs that they've been ripping you off. The special inform cards are worse than the normal cards. EA have been fraudulently ripping off its customers.

They may have remodeled faces for the Euros but couldn't be bothered to update the teams to the correct line ups. England being the main example. Unforgivable really given they'd bought the licence. Just got PES 2017 and so far I'm finding it a bit meh. Crashes a lot and there's one stadium that glitches out a fair bit hiding players etc. Feels a little unfinished and my club online is a lag fest and largely unplayable. I'm thinking of getting FIFA as I enjoyed the demo and the Journey looks fun to play.

You buy an PSN account pre loaded with Fifa 17 from an Ebay seller. Then activate it as your primary account, where from there you can either play on there or you game share it and play the game on your real account. (Instructions may change depending on seller)

Personally, I would avoid that route as its very unsafe unless you personally know them or unless you were given a working code, and of course this is illegal, so if/when the account gets be revoked...can't do much about it.

It doesn't. It's available early with EA Access which is an XBOX exclusive subscription as Sony weren't interested in it.

And what I was actually on about was the edit mode in PES.

Yes you can, I share fifa 16 deluxe with a friend, and we both play in the same pro club! haha

However, to the best of my knowledge, only the person who buys the game on their account actually gets the DLC

So your friend will get the game but not the add on packs for instance

It also works with xbox live, I have Gold and my friend doesn't, he pays for half my gold and shares it

Here is a good guide for it: http://www.ubergizmo.com/how-to/gameshare-xbox-one/

Split the cost of Gold and never pay full price for a game again! ^^
Disco

I'll try here first

1) Go to cdkeys and buy £65 of xbox credit and EA Access 1 month, should come to about £63-65
2) Use a facebook 5% off code to get a little off your cdkeys order
3) Redeem the credit and EA access on your Xbox account
4) Go through fifa 16 to get 10% off super deluxe (it should be in game)
5) EA Access auto adds another 10% so the game should be £63.99 digital download
6) Share with a friend (needs to be set up, easy to do, google it, 5-10 mins) and split the cost, 30 ish each for SD edition!

So for £65 quid thats the super deluxe preorder and 1 month of EA access! Share it with a mate and its under 35 quid. bargain.

Bit of a stupid comment no? When it comes to games especially sports there are two types of them. Simulation and arcade. One is trying to recreate the experience of watching/playing the game and the other isn't. For example NBA2k is trying to replicate it and NBA Jam isn't. Obviously no game is going to be the same as playing the sport yourself.....

I don't really get why people are taking such an issue with this guys decision, but I've personally gone for physical as I'll chop it in as soon as it goes live on ea access, and get a subscription to that, just like I've done this year. However I much prefer not having to swap the disc as I mainly play my xbox through game streaming
DudeyGeeza
12 Aug 16 1 #109
noticed something in game on fifa 16 saying you get extra % off the super deluxe eidition making it £2 more expensive for 40 packs instead of 20 (with the deluxe version), so i went on MS web chat, cancelled the deluxe, used the MS credit refund to buy the super deluxe from in game, 40 packs instead of 20 for an extra 2£, with ea access it meant 63£ for the super deluxe, plus the 20 packs are still showing as being purchased on the xbox from the deluxe version, but now has the 40 packs there too! 60 packs??

As the xbox downloads the purchase of packs when you preorder (as thats the bonus) but it seems that I now have both 20 and 40 preorder packs that are still valid...

I have FIFA 16 and had PES 16 (the Euro version). PES is a better game - not so much a slog like Fifa (in Professional) but all those crazy team names, no sponsors on shirts, moody stadiums, made up club badges and mad coloured kits makes PES second best. They only had Manchester United correct in the Premiership - kit, sponsor etc.

The Euro bit was all correct and was a great game.

Pity they cant make a PES/FIFA hybrid with all the best bits.

Wont be getting FIFa 17 until at least February when its £15 digital - not enough changes to warrant a £37 outlay now.

PES wins for those that play multiplayer offline.

Both gameplay have serious faults that hold them back.

I found that Barca faces are brilliant, the others whilst recognisable looks a bit strange (Ozil and Greizmann for example!)

For once, I think I'll give the deluxe version a miss, absolutely poor value. £17 extra for 20 jumbo packs, a silly kit and some loan players that ultimately, you'll either not use or they vanish after a few games. I didn't stay interested in Fifa 16 for more than a few weeks last season and the packs I opened from the deluxe version gave me **** all (as usual).

£37 is a decent price but I can see it dropping lower by time it's released, which Smyths will honor.
Istanbul_Kop to titchyyyyy

Get ea access for 1 month, about 3 quid, and log in through fifa 16, that will give you super deluxe for 65 quid

Share it with a mate through game sharing and that's 32.50 for super deluxe, with all the dlc

If you're not game sharing by now, on xbox at least, you are literally throwing money away

last year psn did a deal for £22.99 if I remember correctly this was just a limited time only offer though and was just a digital bog standard version. Prior to that Zavvi/The Hut Group used to do a £29.99 offer (I think) with a pack of boxers lol
chrisredmayne
11 Aug 16 #38
they just haven't got the resources to do all the clubs like FIFA, all the big name players got remodelled for the euros though. I support boro you should see how bad some of our players were! end of the day though I only play my club so having real team names and smaller clubs player models better isn't too much of a concern. FIFA didn't do the championship players any justice either though!

I have just used them for no mans sky and picked it up yesterday no problem.

Also you get 3% back on quidco

hmmm I don't know if I prefer the draft token standard edition or deluxe!!
SheMustBeTheDevi
11 Aug 16 #35
what you must remember is that the majority of these players are drawn by an actual artist (or lack of in this case) rather than the way it's done on fifa which is photo capture.

11 Aug 16 1 #34
Also, getting back to the deal itself. I'm probably going to hold off, Zavvi/The Hut Group usually do a deal which I reckon will go live next week or the week after cheaper than Smyth's so I'm holding out.

That isn't quite true. They are very good for the teams that are in there i.e Barca but everyone else looks bad. As a Saints fan I couldn't stop laughing at some of the players faces. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjWwqC_xEzM
Wanyama and Ward Prowse look nothing at all like the players.

Having played both games (FIFA 16 and PES 16) with friends I found that PES actually has better gameplay and physics and just feels a much smoother engine than FIFA. That said, the game modes themselves and names are much better than PES. I play a lot of pro clubs but find the AI extremely infuriating every year because FIFA don't invest (they say they improve every year and it turns out to be the same AI) in anything other than FUT which I never really bother with. I'm more of a pro clubs/career mode/co-op seasons kinda guy.

PES's version of pro clubs does exist, yes, but it's not your own team and you have to go through a whole sorry process of selecting your player about 4 times to confirm you want to replace an existing player within an existing team and then go on to find another team to play against in a lobby setting rather than the server find one for you like FIFA does. I'd say if you're looking to play online go FIFA, if you're playing locally play PES. I just wish FIFA or PES would take the positives from the other game without kicking off any copyright infringements or whatever.

Right so... you don't create your own pro player, you don't create your own club and you don't progress through divisions?

Yeah, sounds good mate.
chrisredmayne
11 Aug 16 #29
pes has the correct faces, intact graphically the face detail is a lot better than FIFA, watch he YouTube previews of how good the Barcelona side is, they use the fox engine which improves drastically every year instead of rehashing the same game. and kits can be added, although it is a bit of a pain I agree

This Fifa is using Frostbite so I would imagine there will be quite a few gameplay changes...suppose that explains why the last few have been virtually identical

well different opinion here as a current PES 2016 player. PES online server has massive massive lag you will be frustrated all day by the input lag. Many users complain about this yet Konami totally ignored it. I got lag 9 out of 10 games which made me impossible to play online ranked division. I played reasonably well on both FIFA and PES. For FIFA 13 i managed to got to division 2. However, PES16 I forever got stuck in division 9. Online lag cheaters everywhere in PES as well. Google it yourself. Long pass and through pass are too easy in PES and online players too rely on playing anti-football to win. There are some other reasons I'm not impressed with PES series as well. I'll totally give PES2017 a miss.

just remember, the online lag will ultimately haunt your PES experience.

I am going the other way this year. I liked PES this year at the start but got tired of winning games 5-0 etc. Its become a less simulation of football and more an arcade goal fest. Which is fine if you like that type of thing of course.

there is a version of proclubs and this season option files are back so it will take all of 5 minutes to make PES perfect. I'm getting both but PES has been better the last 2 years IMHO.

I did yeah. Nathan Drake was the last game I got off them but any i've Pre-Ordered online with smyths I've always had the game on release date. It's easier than queuing the night before or going into town the day of and hoping there's stock! That's my experience with them anyway. Couldn't fault them!

For anyone interested:
No payment has been taken. The price at the time of Pre Order may not be the price you pay when the item is available. As part of Smyths Toys Price Promise, we will always offer the lower price.
