Sorry, what I meant was the phone doesn't support a notification light / LED at all.
In other words, it's a hardware limitation, so no software/app support is going to make it work.

received my phone yesterday. having a play with it seems good so far. notixed when i get a call an ad pops up. and I don't receive notifications for WhatsApp so I don't know I have messages until I actually go into the app and look bit similar with my emails. I tried enabling the notifications in the settings but hit and mid sometimes I get a notification and sometimesni don't

I got one of these phones 2 weeks ago, I flashed a new rom to get rid of malware and launcher included in the Dido Os, It runs pretty sweet now. So good that I have actually ordered another for the wife.

Decent looking spec but the size and dubious theme would put me off. If a custom ROM becomes available it could make this a great deal. That said, I've normally found off brand Chinese phones and tablets generally have a few issues that take the shine off what you'd hoped was a great buy.... Typing this on a £25 Doogee X5Pro...

Worst case, I can live with the launcher but the icons are ugly, very very ugly. There is no option for resetting them. The launcher seems to support themes but there are no themes available other than the default one !

Does not come with google play installed .I thought would have to install play APK ie download and install manually
But just logged into my google account and all my apps were installed off my old phone automatically inc play
Dido OS is not much more than theme running on android 5.1 so should run any android app ok inc Pokemon go

If you change the default launcher in Settings it should stick....
So, just after installing an alternative launcher, go to: Settings > Apps > Advanced menu (near bottom left) > Default app settings > Launcher > choose the alternative & save settings (if necessary)
The above is on Android 6, so the same/similar settings may be in a different place on 5.1.
Do let us know if it worked or not as it might help others.

I bought this phone last month. Excellent build quality, speed etc, everything works good.
BUT
The software is a nightmare. Can't stand Pepsified icons. Can't get rid of them. Tried different launchers but it keeps switching to default launcher. Not much help available on internet for rooting it.

Biggest problem with this phone is the crap that comes installed on it, random apps download themselves to the phone. The 'prize' apps that seem to be causing it are set at a system level so it won't let you delete them.
Amazing phone otherwise for the price.
