I had the misfortune of buying a wardrobe from B&M. I only wanted something cheap for a spare bedroom. It was cheap, but I could have created something more substantial from paper and cardboard. I'm not saying is not a good deal, but you might want to look at one built in store before buying to make sure that you can live with the quality compromises

It's more about putting it together sturdily. Use some extra screws or nails if necessary. It's like the difference between me and the wife putting furniture up. She will huff and complain that it's not sturdy when she's left half the screws hanging out...

It wasn't just the fixings, it was the thickness of the chipboard and the quality of the laminate finish. I've never seen chipboard so thin used on furniture before. The weight of the doors bow the sides so its impossible to get everything square. The top and bottom of the doors are bare chipboard which looks pants. All round it was a poor product.
I'm not saying all of their furniture is bad, I was just saying beware, because you don't want to end up buying the naff stuff!

Strange. We bought a wardrobe for my sons room a year or so ago and its solid. Supposed to be oak (not sure if it is really or not), but it is in no way flimsy. Also bought a single bed for him last week and its absolutely fine for what it is.

Put the wardrobe together for someone today, decent quality and looked quite nice. Instructions were straight forward to follow. Took about an hour and half to do. I would recommend it if your looking for a budget wardrobe.

not so sure about that. I bought the "Malm" drawers for my younger kids' room and was impressed with it so much I bought more for our room and for elder son. Decent value v quality.

Bought the 6 drawer chest and tried putting it together, followed the vague instructions as carefully as possible but drawers still seem to go in at an angle with the bottom of the drawers sticking out.....anybody know how to fix this?
