Using a vpn connect to russia. You can get the game for £22.99 but using pay pal the price rose to a flat £25. Maybe using a different payment method you will get £22.99,

I know it's frowned upon but I always torrent a game that I'm unsure of before purchasing to test and make sure it runs OK. I always uninstall if I don't like the game, or I'll purchase on steam or Uplay etc if I do. This is the biggest pile of crap I've ever played. You are paying for a randomly generated world that is not fit for triple A price. That fact this "indie" title costs more that The Witcher 3 GOTY edition is absolutely laughable.

From what I've heard the general consensus is that the game over promised and under delivered.
Generic, repetitive gameplay and only a couple of handfulls of genuinely unique worlds.
The lack of multiplayer of any form really kills it.
I'll certainly get it but it's gotta be below £15.

Not for me at all - I demo-ed it on my system, which is the sensible thing to do before buying it. If you know a friend who picked it up on GOG - then ask them to kindly let you try the game out  Wise in this case, as you really do not want the nightmare that many users have experienced.

I played for about 3 hours, explored two planets and then felt the fatigue setting in and realised the game wasn't for me at all. It doesn't look that special, but has lush lighting and a few pretty effects & abstract colour choices. I didn't like the creature modelling at all, nor the style of the vegetation particularly. The space-faring aesthetic is pretty cool, I also enjoyed re-entering & orbiting planets & just generally floating around in the ship. The resource management is just plain dull, really not my idea of fun - but yeah, some of you guys might like to smoke a doobie, zone out and just wander around zapping plants & rocks. The audio engine is quite nice. Yep - not a lot else to say that hasn't already been said. Me, I'd pay a tenner for the game, but only when it has seen several patches and updates. I can think of endless titles I'd stack before this one. Hell, I even went back to Dead Space after this, just to purge the sickly visuals out of my system and had more fun revisiting that game from 2007... subjective opinion, maybe. Dunno - anyway.

But - aside from the odd stutter as the procedural systems resolve/repopulate or whatever, it ran fine on medium settings, with increased FOV...

My system (for those who might be quivering in the wings about to hit buy):

Windows 10
3.30 gigahertz Intel Core i5-4590
Z97X-Gaming 5 Mobo
8 GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 970
Samsung SSD 850 EVO

Yep - runs OK, but should be better if/when they patch the game.

Yeah, repetitive doesn't mean boring for everyone.

Discovering all the way points and records. Upgrading weapons, ship & exosuit. I'm enjoying it.

Plenty of pages showed you in-depth about the game prior to release. Wiki Link

Loving it myself , yes it can be repetitive , but so is minecraft and look how popular that is
reddragon105

Until the game was released all we had was the hype train - previews, trailers, grandiose statements etc. - so what research could anyone have done, exactly? It was never going to be as good as everyone wanted it to be but we still dared to hope.

And even if planetary exploration and space combat are great, it's still repetitive if you're just doing the same things over and over again, no matter how great they are. People have broken the surface now and underneath is just more surface.

However I think people are confusing repetitive with bad - they're not necessarily the same thing. There are plenty of good repetitive games - in fact you could argue that every game is repetitive as it's not like every game does everything.

Worst game I have played in years. Unbelievably boring you just run around mining the same stuff over and over yet have only 12 slots of inventory space so you have to keep running back to your ship ad infinitum. On top of that, it runs like dog **** on PC. Don't bother giving this developer your money, it's an unfinished game with a triple-A price tag.
MrCollective to LittleChimp

GoG has a regional price promise- any difference is mentioned on the product page (and given back in credit). So am confused as to why a VPN is required?

I'm going against the grain here and will comment that after an hour of play, I'm actually rather enjoying the casual nature of exploration. That feeling of isolation and occasional hopelessness is offset by plentiful resources to sustain your life force. Crafting is remarkably simple and once you get used to the initially fiddly UI, its a pleasure to play. In terms of stuttering, I've had a tiny bit, but certainly not enough to want to rage on every forum imaginable in some futile hope that the developers will cry and quit game developing - All details turned up high, 1080p (i7 4790k 4ghz, Sapphire r9 390x 8gb gddr5, 16gb 1866mhz ddr3).

It's not for everybody though - The price of £25 is, in my view a good deal

To be perfectly honest it's a strange one. It's incredibly dull but strangely addictive at the same time. In all fairness It's absolutely in no way shape or form worth a penny over £20 though.
MrCollective
14 Aug 16 2 #25
All these people stating there isnt much to do & its boring

Did you not research prior to jumping on the hype train ?

You probably haven't even broken the surface yet. This game isn't for everyone.

You start the furthest away possible on the edge of a galaxy, as you jump between systems you slowly..... slowly get closer to the centre. Planets have more life and are 10 x more interesting.

It's not all about the planets either, the space combat is great fun if you have a better ship than the trash you start with!

Price will drop soon, i got it on release day for ps4 played it for about 10 hours and got really bored there isn't much to do, they promise there will be updates with more content and stuff to do but i already sold it to CEX only lost 6 pounds in total, will probly buy it when enought updates have been with more content but that will probly take months if not a half a year min because of the small team hello games have.

It runs reasonably well on my RX480 but it is so boring. Have played 9 hours so far and I still am waiting for something to happen. Imagine Minecraft without the building. It's an endless slog to find resources to have enough fuel and upgrade your ship for more slots for your inventory, to store more resources to craft more fuel and visit more planets and upgrade your upgraded ship for even more slots, to store even more resources to craft , visit more planets, upgrade you ship, more resources, more planets, ship, resources, planets ,ship, resources, planets, ship, resources, planets, ship, resources, planets and on and on.........
The novelty of naming planets and things wears off after 5 minutes as well. Very disappointing.
GS01

Not the case for everyone, I had to set Vsync to dynamic and turn on triple buffering which improved it considerably but it still stutters every 1-2 minutes on my GTX [email protected] regardless of the settings I use. I'm not the only having issues with it, I've read about people with 1080s struggling with it and this isn't all that visually pleasing when compared to many other games.

Definitely doesn't live up to the hype and it can get quite annoying and boring. There's a lot of mining to be done since you need to repair or replenish almost everything. Sure exploring planets is interesting but you will constantly run out of inventory space and you can't teleport back to your ship, so it takes ages to get back to your ship. It can be a decent game if they fix the bugs and add more content but either way it's not worth £23. Should have been a £15 game at release.

I quite like it. There's a good sense of adventure and whilst I think the graphics performance needs to improve it's enjoyable.

Yeah, definitely wait for some content patches for this. It's a great concept but it's so boring, plus it's the buggiest thing I've ever played. It's crashed my PlayStation to the point I've had to hard reset twice so it's going back. I'll look back into it in a year or so. It's a great price for it but it really isn't worth it unfortunately.

The game was overhyped. Bad reviews are coming in about it getting repetitive and boring. I think the price will drop from the mostly bad reception and I might pick it up sub £15.

On Steam there's a new experimental branch which will go live for everybody in the next few days, it's solved pretty much all the issues I was having with lag and frame drops (I also switched off steam overlay). I don't have a particularly well specced pc (8320e and HD 7850) but I'm getting pretty smooth gameplay now.
