If memory serves, these used to be really good (fast) but then a few months ago the specs changed and they slowed down a lot. I'm sure you can find the previous threads if you do a search.

Based on the fear factor Turkey - personally I wouldn't store photos / important docs on this in case it went kaput' no evidence to prove otherwise' just weary hence my comment of not sure I'd risk it for a biscuit :smiley:

but for 20 quid you can't go wrong, i mean how many times has a flash drive failed on you?

Personally, I never lost any data by using flash drives.

But for 20 quid maybe you can actually go wrong - ask yourself why other well known brands are more? You could argue it's because they are well known with higher overheads' my point still stands though.

Go ahead it's your post - buy as many as you want then fill them up to your hearts content, I'm sure they'll be perfectly fine for your personal needs.

Drives do fail and people have lost data that's a fact' fortunately I haven't lost anything yet but then again I only buy reputable drives for important stuff that can't be replaced.

This year they massively changed these devices, to bare that in mind when reading old reviews.

I have and use 3 of the older version for recording from the telly and for streaming movies from my router. Not that I wouldn't put photos or documents on them, but I use externals for that. Anyway, no reliability problems at all, but the older ones are much faster (40MB/s and above), than the new ones (I returned mine twice) were usb2 speeds (10MB/s ballpark - less than that quotes on the site).

I will also get us started with the usual....always have backups, have additional backups off-site if you are gonna cry about losing precious data. Eggs? Baskets? Whatever. Too big to fail? That's the banks isn't it?

Same price at Rakuten as well, plus can use up super points before it shuts down.
