missing compass is not a problem for car satnav use BUT as I found out for the second time in London, it makes foot navigation very hard at times....once again I strolled in the wrong direction for 5-10 mins before realising I was going the wrong way. it's the single most annoying (missing) feature on an otherwise excellent phone.

Not really that much of an issue works fine inside a car uses 4g/3g to get direction, for the price this is stunning the screen is on par with iphone 6s, decent camera etc fantastic software, IMO this is the best sub £150 phone money can buy, better than the redmi note 3 in every way apart from processor.

This phone is much better as a phone and cheaper as well . Redmi note may be much better as tablet not phone because it is missing UK bands, will be a grey import with out any warranty or support from manufacturer. Actual data speeds will be better on this phone and it will get the updates from Motorola/Lenovo as well.

This phone is not in same league as a redmi note 3! Real life performance, graphics processing, battery life, finger print sensor, gps compass, build quality, memory for the price, the redmi note 3 is much better. The good thing about this phone is you can buy it straight away, android 6 and it's got all 4g bands. It's more comparable to a vodafone su6 which is a lot cheaper.

Yeah Lenovo doesn't really have a temperature check on reality. Significantly cheaper Chinese phones of today come with NFC and Compass. Without NFC no Android Pay, and without a compass you'd find it difficult to follow directions properly while walking using mapping apps, amongst other things. These features cost pennies to implement and are definitely not luxuries in today's world; even TFL now uses Android Pay so you don't have to keep track of a separate Oyster card.

Shame as the G4 and G4 Plus are pretty good value for money. At this price, and with a JL 2 year warranty, I still think it deserves some heat but yes no NFC specially is a deal breaker for me.

I picked one up today, amazing phone for the price ! yes NFC and a fingerprint scanner would have been nice but your gonna have to spend at least double this price to get that and a decent spec'd phone.

I have one of these still in it's sealed box from JL just in case there is a better deal in the next 90 days.

I can see no specific need for NFC my present phone has this and I have never used it and there are several free compass apps - would an installed one be much better?

It's not just a Compass app which is missing - the issue is that the hardware to support a Compass function isn't present

Had exactly the same problem with my P8000! Also my battery fried this week after Pokémon related intensive use. Just got the G4 which is a nice improvement in almost every say except battery life. Since the warranty is for 2 years and not in China, Ill have it hooked to a power bank most of the time and can replace it when it dies.

I totally second this. This was exactly my problem when we had 4 days in London last week. It was so annoying and we also strolled the wrong way off Oxford Street, trying to get to Leicester square. :disappointed:
But it is a brilliant phone and the camera is very good too. I've had no issues with crashing or battery getting hot and battery lasts me all day.

I don't about the price but I don't get why people will leave negative comments regarding the h3 headphones. I own a pair and I am quite fussy about my music and I can clearly say that these are some high end headphones with a wide detailed sound range ,theybare not designed for bass they are designed for detail I suppose this depends in the person's music taste but definitely a great set of headphones.

got this phone delivered yesterday, and I'm very happy with it so far, bear in mind I'm replacing nexus 4, which I've had for 3.5 years, but for £130 I recon this phone offers an outstanding value.
Just couldn't justify spending over £200 on a smartphone, let alone shelling 500 - 600 quid on one of those new samsungs

Bought this yesterday for more. Plugged into the mains to charge when it finally went down to 10%. Left it plugged in and after 3-4 hours it was at ......11%. Took it back and swapped it for a Sony E5 for £10 less. Have a lot more confidence now. Also for those for who this is important - for me it most definitely is - this phone has no notification light. Some of us might not actually want the entire screen coming on just for someone saying "ok" over WhatsApp....

I wouldn't get an Elephone again. [My P8000 has] No gyro / compass, NFC, or OTG and the headphone socket has broken.

i find this phone and previous versions don't cope well with Messenger and it causes Google Play to crash, so I uninstalled it and things improved
