If you fancy 4G networks, bigger screen (5.5" vs 5"), decent camera pictures from the front and back, fast charging and bigger battery, updated internal specifications and the ability to update its software in the future without rooting, i'd say it's a "worthwhile upgrade".

Good price. It's a bit big for me personally, but great if you are after a cheap phablet.

For a non dual SIM phone for £129.99 it's not bad however for a few more pounds you could get a dual SIM Moto G4 at Appliances Direct if you sign up for the voucher which was on offer 4 days ago.

Is this a worthwhile upgrade from a s4? Specs look superior, it's just the ips screen vs amoled that bothers me.

The screen is good quality for IPS, but it's never going to look as good as a 1080p AMOLED screen.

It's tempting. I think I might hang on and see what pops up in the Bank Holiday sales.

depends if its a pentile amoled or not. colours always have more saturation on amoled but a pentile matrix will give the appearance of a lower resolution

The Moto G4 play is available for £124.99 from 29-08-16

Unfortunately the UK version of the G4 Play is 1GB RAM only, although it will still have 16GB storage. It's also available from O2 for £109.

Unlike the 3rd gen, does this have gyroscope technology in order to run Google cardboard etc??

The G4 includes a Gyroscope, but not a Magnetometer (so compass apps won't work).
how do you get the £6.50 off cant see that when added to the basket

Only assuming, but I think you need Amazon Prime and maybe link the amazon account to your University Email address and maybe get NUS involved.

So this phone or Xiaomi Rednote 3 Pro?

Maybe the discount is applied at the checkout stage. If not, i suppose NUS is the last option to get a discount.

Use the stars and I don't mean Taylor Swift or I suppose you could Tweet her asking her to use her psychic powers to tell you your location. Just don't get lost when she's on stage as she shuts down her navigation advice during gigs.

I know it sounds silly but couldn't you buy a compass seperately (they're dirt cheap from memory) for when you need it? I thought most apps function without one just fine when you initially get moving.
