The £10 top-up is not required when buying from O2.co.uk. Selecting any of the tariffs will not cost you anything at checkout. The selected tariff only becomes active once you top-up the SIM card separately.
I would wait for this to come down in price a little more. Apart from the larger battery and inclusion of NFC this is actually a downgrade from the Moto G 3rd (at least the 16GB version).

Well except they take away some features as they add them going up the range.

Maybe. That's why I'm a big fan of the 3rd Gen.

This model is even more gimped. Look elsewhere. 'Gyroscope' is the feature you want in a phone.

Shame it's 720p not 1080p and 410 not 617... I'd definitely be going for the regular G4 for just £20 more.

where from? Is it still available?

Direct from Motorola.co.uk (using the moto maker customisation tool). Create your handset, then use the following promo codes at checkout: UKCRM165 and UKWELCOME10 to reduce the price.

That was the 2GB/16GB version? Came up as £159 for me and the codes reduced it to £109.01...

Does anyone know if it has a removable battery. According to gsmarena it has, but that may be wrong as I cant find it anywhere else?

Yes, the battery is removable on the G4 Play.

5" to me feels perfect, shame the G4 is 5.5" otherwise for 20 quid more, would have snapped that one up, wish that samsung galaxy 7 was little cheaper otherwise that would be a fone to last a few years at least !

The 8gb was £79. This is about the 16gb which could be bought for £109 with codes.

This may be useful for anybody concerned about the camera quality of the G4 Play. A Portuguese tech site has done a comparison of the cameras from the G4, G4 Play, G4 Plus and G Turbo (which is a Moto G 3rd Gen with an upgraded CPU). It shows that there is barely a difference between the four cameras, none of them are great.
