No, 8GB is not enough for an Android phone period. Even with an SD card you will constantly be running out of space. Unless you want to root it and use a custom ROM that allows apps with widgets to work off the sd card. For less money you can get more grunt http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_326823.html?wid=21

£90 for 8GB/1GB seems a lot if you are just going to be texting and phoning.
This is a relic.

Simple answer: No

no. I have one and it's still useless. Very little can go on the memory card so storage is always full with only a handful of apps yet there is next to nothing on the SD card.

I rooted and installed clockwork mod on a sub-£100 64gb Fire Phone well over a year ago following advice from this site and I'm still not seeing anything that comes close. Has anyone got any recommendations that aren't cheap Chinese imports? (had my fingers burned with one in the past) Thanks in advance.

I love how 80% of people in this thread have no idea what they're talking about.
This is still the best phone out there at this price (unless you want to risk going for one of the less well-known Chinese brands), and 1GB/8GB is more than adequate for light users, particularly if you use Google Photos to back up all your photos/videos and free up space.

i hate mine with a passion. it's not worth having unless you're a low user. sick of no storage, crashes how slow it is etc etc.

Of course it isn't adequate.
The only people who say that are people who have bought the phone and have to justify the purchase in their own minds when there are infinitely better and more future proof phones in the same price range. It's graphical performance in particular is nothing short of abysmal:-

I know many are saying this is a relic.. which I'm not denying lol
However, for the price it is very good and the battery life is great

IMO this us the best of the MotoG fones in terms of build quality, feel & ease of use. The 8gb was fine perhaps a year ago but typically with time you want to do more with your mobile.
The 8gb you can manage- the 1gb is the real problem.
No idea why the 16gb wont drop in price even with the release of the G4

Moto G 3 was a great phone, but if you use a lot of Apps 8Gb just ain't enough. Many Apps need internal memory not SD.
its also pushed with only 1GB ram

It has dropped, if memory serves me the launch price for the 16GB was £209.

8GB Moto G (3rd Gen) reduced to clear in Tesco (in-store) - unfortunately at £99.

I never said it did, but it depends on who you are comparing it to, all the lowest price deals for the 8GB have come from one of the networks who eat the cost, not a retail outlet, the 16GB hasn't ever been on sale at a reduced price from any network AFAIK.

FB is actually a huge memory and storage hog, particularly if you use Messenger as well (pretty unavoidable if you're a FB user).

My partner is a very light phone user and even she struggles with the 8gb version ( even with a 32gb card added ) I got the 16gb version, double ram and it works 10x better than hers.

I have this phone & love it. I'm not on any social media, don't play any games. Just use it for calls, texts, WhatsApp & a bit of browsing. I clear the cache regularly & my phone still flies.
My wife has the same phone. Is addicted to YouTube, FB etc etc. Her phone seizes up regularly.
It really depends what you need it for

Doesn't Marshmallow offer adoptable storage for SD cards or has Motorola turned off this feature?
DJW12
11 Aug 16#36
Nope, it multitasks almost as well as my Nexus 5x. As long as you're not using too many memory-intensive apps (such as Google Play Music, Snapchat, etc) simultaneously, you'll be fine.
Also most people don't use their phone for hardcore gaming, so your point about the graphics capabilities is mostly moot.

Of course... you can't prove me wrong so you resort to ad-hominems. You've clearly never used a stock Android phone before, they don't require nearly as much RAM or memory as phone with skinned versions of android such as Touchwiz.
