You say exactly the same thing, every time on every Quorn deal. It's not funny, nor is it even remotely accurate. Who in their right mind microwaves and then eats Quorn raw... Unless you are mentally deranged. No one does this, so why say it tastes like cardboard? Of course it does, when you don't cook it properly. Most things taste like cardboard if you microwave them and eat raw..

Even if I did, I would need to also eat cardboard to see if it tastes the same and I would not do that, And I would''t just microwave it for 30seconds and eat it. It would probably not be cooked and it is a bulking agent - it is not meant to be eaten alone

Try it for yourself as an experiment. Microwave frozen quorn pieces for 30 sec, then eat. See what it taste likes. Then report back..

Well looking at cardboard and at quorn, I refuse to believe they are similar. So I will need proof

Mince is the same price in our morrisons. Be careful though as they often mix them up in the freezer & you could easily pick up the vegan or the 500g one by mistake.

No vids regrettably.
Anyway, it's not like I go out of my way to eat cardboard. I've mistakenly eaten it a few times as it often forms part of food packaging. The texture and taste is not something that I particularly like.
I'm not sure whether the cardboard flavour in these foods comes from the containers..

Do you have a video of you eating cardboard? Because I have never ever known anyone to eat it before

Well if you check, I have also posted quorn deals and also meat deals. So I'm not biased like your post suggests. Just because it tastes like cardboard, this does not stop me from posting cheap quorn deals..like this one:
I am fairly confident most people here never have/will eat cardboard. So unlike you, they will not be able to compare it to that. This forum is for DEALS - not preferences. That is like going round to all meat posts and voting cold just because I do not eat it

- in fact, have tried it, as mentioned.
- although mince is better, it's not immune from the cardboard taste
- but like many users, I am happy to eat this stuff purely because it's so cheap
I hope that clarifies matters for you..

This quorn can sometimes taste of cardboard hence the low price.
The mince is better.
COLD from me. Sorry.

Been using Quorn pieces in dishes for more than 5 years b/c of veggie spouse. When cooked well it tastes great, and has been incrementally improving every year (biggest improvement was when they changed the nutritional info a few years ago). If it ever tastes or has the texture of cardboard, you're doing something wrong with it.

Funny you should say that. Because on my post about quorn mince you said... So you vote cold to anything quorn, just because other people say it tastes like cardboard and you cannot afford to try it yourself?

Shame it appears not to be the vegan Quorn pieces. Here's hoping they stay good on their promise to offer more products made without eggs. Perhaps this is to clear stock as my local only does the vegan product where available? Hot for the price.

Just to let you know the vegan pieces are currently on offer at sainsburys for £1.50 if that helps. I know they're normally above the £2 mark so it's at least some of a saving. I know the other vegan quorn products are on offer 2 for £4 at Asda as well.

we don't expect this to be anything extra special..I think we agree on that.
it's just a good substitute instead of eating lots of meat or if you want to lose weight..I will buy a few of these

Quorn is processed and has very little goodness. Either eat meat or follow a veggie/vegan diet like a real person. Don`t eat pretend food!

love the quorn pieces but I wouldn't completely cook them in the microwave, maybe 30-60 seconds to aid defrosting but then I love them in a stir fry.

If you cook them in gravy in the microwave they come out quite nice.

Hot from me.I enjoy it lightly stir fried till golden brown and then added to either a pasta sauce base or curry. It enhances the taste greatly. Yum yum.

For your info, I myself put up a Quorn deal today..
It still holds true that the quorn pieces, when microwaved with no additional ingredients, taste like cardboard..
The mince stuff isn't half as bad..

lol. tbh if you just did that to actual chicken I expect the taste result would be similar. perhaps try making a meal with it. just an idea.

I'm not doing anything with it. I usually just stick it in the microwave for 30 seconds and not add anything so that the real inner taste comes out.
So far, I have been very disappointed to say the least..

'chicken pieces' without any chicken
either marketing or target audience must be a bit dim if they cant understand what quorn chunks or pieces or something is
