Terrible shirt, just looks like it has nothing to do with F1.

That's a good thing isn't it? Why would you want to walk around with F1 plastered all over your clothes if a) your not at an F1 race b) your over 12 years old.
The shirt looks boring just like F1.

I bought a Button T shirt and polo last time they were on HUKD. I'm a large, ordered a large and got 2 what looks like XXL with large tags. I could fit two of me in one of them. They are huge. I wonder if I did actually get faulty stock with incorrect labels or if McLaren really think a large person is that big.

who would ever pay £40 for this polo shirt.

Loads of people who follow F1. Same as people who will pay £70 for a Football shirt.
If you ever go to Silverstone, for instance, people will queue for ages to get a polo shirt.
I find the McLaren stuff fairly reasonably made too - I have quite a few shirts plus a pair of the Reebok McLaren trainers that popped up on here a couple of years ago - they're fantastic for sports driving.

I ordered a couple of t-shirts when they were on offer 6 months ago. I found the sizes to be on the large side. Wish I'd ordered a size down.

I bought a McLaren tshirt a while back and the sizes were pretty big. I'm usually a medium but small fitted well
Couldn't buy as this is another seller who doesn't post to the Scottish Highlands.
