This is awesome kit. Drove some long screws into railway sleepers with ease. My mains drill couldn't even turn them at all.

Not much difference in spec for the newer one and it doesn't have a battery gauge. Think i would prefer the case!

Impact driver doesn't twist the tool. Also has a lot more torque.

So how is an 'impact driver' different froma normal cordless drill / screwdriver? I take it the MakPac is just a case?

An impact driver is "specifically" for doing up or undoing screws or bolts, it has a rotary hammer action instead of a percussion hammer along the drill length. (great if you have hundreds of bolts to deal with.)
Also the chuck will only take hex bits, so you cant put ordinary drill bits in one of these.

I bought a Makita Impact Driver and Drill set a good few years back. It was alot of money but it has completely changed my life. These are small and really really powerful. Will undo absolutely any Screw with ease.
