Always wondered: how come there's such taste difference in butters?

The fat is not a problem to me as my cholesterol is only 2.8 and I smother my toast in butter, when I mentioned this to my Doctor..... His reply was it is because your eating butter as opposed to margarine... The body can break up the butter but margarine is alien to our bodies....so so much for all the hype in polyunsaturates like flora and benicol.

It still tastes okay to me, although I do prefer Kerrygold. For most users I doubt the additional 0.8% that many salted butters contain would make much difference. Surely all that fat will clog up the arteries before the salt causes any harm. I tried some President butter once, but had to add my own salt to make it palatable.

Don't have sugar in tea coffee or cereal.
Stopped drinking alcohol and got used to that.....but some things I refuse to give up because manufacturers decided on my intake....so I give up lurpak :stuck_out_tongue:

Can't even remember the last time I had butter - and people are worried about salt content?

Bit of a non-sequitur, what is your concern?

Why do they only do slightly salted now?
And yes I know the health issues....but it lacks in taste.

Only because your taste buds have been educated to expect more salt. You can get accustomed to it and live longer.
I used to have sugar in tea and on cereal because that's what you did - can't stand it now!
