Hey, thanks for that - yeah I'd really appreciate some pics. The Amazon one only showed it at it's highest point but it's impossible to gauge from plain white backgrounds anyway. Need to see real world pics to tell! And yeah it was rubbish playing on the ironing board as the legs get in the way, it's not stable... and it's a damn ironing board. Not cool.

26 Aug 16#74
The plate the wheel is on has minimal tilt but the whole platform has three angle positions that can be adjusted at the base, that is the highest. They say it goes F1 style so I'd say it is fairly low on the lowest setting, could probably sit on the floor. The middle is too low for our sofa. If you can wait until tomorrow I'd happily take some pics at its lowest? Ironing board is hopeless, used it myself for a few days. When I showed that to the wife after she bought me the wheels she replied "buy it yourself", so I did. Don't regret it at all, it really makes the wheel worthwhile, I don't want to turn it off and have played nothing but race sims from I got it.

I've had a G29 gathering dust in the cupboard for a couple of months as 'er indoors moaned that the weight was bending the ironing board. I like the look of that GT Omega stand, but I'm wondering if the angle of the wheel base is adjustable? I like to game sat on a massive beanbag.

Anyone else remembers the night this was posted as an upcoming deal for £99? I remember being up untill 3 am that night for the price drop to go live on currys website and there were like a thousand comments posted on that deal calling op a fraud. Until ofcourse the deal did went live and i bought it for £99 aswell. Great kit, sadly not many games to play on it on PS4.

26 Aug 16#54
Possible stupid question....
I've never had a gaming wheel before (unless you count the Wii Mario kart "wheel" attachment, lol)
Do you need a "setup" for these? I would be playing on PS4 as I do like my driving games. However do you rest it on your lap? Clamp it to a desk? Need a driving game rig?
And finally can you use wheel without pedals (if you felt so inclined) on those days when you want to play with your feet up?
I would think that you could probably play without pedals if the game allowed you to map the buttons to accel/brake - but I doubt if it'd work too well.
BigYoSpeck to dunc360
26 Aug 16#62
You can't use this on your lap, minimum of a desk to clamp it to, but a wheel stand or rig is where it's going to be it's best.

You young 'uns don't know the meaning of inflation. Never heard of those bloomin' video games in them days. When I was your age I would take me an' me new cloth cap on the omnibus into town, have ten pints of ale, lose two of me teeth in a fight. Have a bag of chips wi' scraps ont way 'ome and still have change from tuppence ha'penny. Those were good times eh? Actually, to be honest it were bloody miserable.
hobsgrg to Shayno
26 Aug 161#40
I had one of those £40 sets, they were naff! They didn't have force feedback, just had rumble. As this wheel has actual force feedback it is a lot more like actually using a wheel on a car, and consequently a lot more expensive than a wheel that just rumbles but doesn't give you any actual feedback through the wheel itself
anlygi to Shayno
26 Aug 16#56
That's what crappy products like the Thrustmaster T80 are for. Use that then a proper force feedback wheel like this or T300 and you'll see and feel that you get what you pay for.
I have this. At £100 it's expensive but a great product.
Which adjusted for inflation is about £60-70 which you can still get an equivalent build device for the price of.

After getting the curry's deal, and given that this is just a button update compared to the g27, I actually still prefer the g27. Simpler, easier to use. But sadly, doesn't work with the PS4!

I cant talk about the console ports but the PC version is amazing. I spent a grand on a fanatec rig and another grand ona pc specifically for pcars and AC. Both are amazing in their own areas. Physics, force feedback and free mods are pros for AC. Better community on pcars and a lot more cars and tracks. I havent tried it witha 360 pad, but it must be better than GT / Forza / et all.

Can I use the G27 shifter as I need the extra buttons?
Bought one of these a while back for a little bit more. Turns out my old Logitech Wingman didn't really work with Windows any more. Despite having USB, it's so old it actually had a serial to USB adaptor that doesn't conform to USB standards. Tried a load of hacks to get it working with Windows 10 but it wasn't playing ball.
This is a nice wheel though and a lot better than my previous Playstation set up I used to play Gran Turismo and Burning Road on

you right , we would have not bought any if it was the normal price and at £133 is a great price for these that really want one. It was at £159.99 previously from cyurrys for a longer time but I do not think they sold many. No matter of money sometime, when we want something we want it at any price. I remember paying £220 for the G25 just because we wanted it at the time. No idea at all why the huge discount on that particular Sunday and it was not even a misprice. I doubt is going to be repeated

Quite similar, comes down to personal preference, I would personally say the pedals are better on the g29 but the steering wheel is a little smoother and better feedback on the t150, but I havn't used them for a long period of time. The Thrustmaster T300 is a huge step up from these wheels, more expensive but worth every penny if you play racing game a lot, makes these wheels feel like cheap kids toys after owning the t300
