As a marketing ploy, so obvious that this battery branding is after contemporary technology buzzword Li-ion, the current power source of every portable device

Actually Lion has been around since 1930 and has a lion as it's icon.
Cheap rubbish, I've worked in this industry for 20 years and there is a reason why most of the stuff ECP sell is cheap, because its rubbish, its simple really, their LUK clutches for example are cheaper than most other factors, the reason is they source from eastern Europe where they have different specs for clutches, a lot of people don't realise in Europe they remanufacture clutches, same as alters and starters etc, here in the UK even the cheapest clutches are brand new and not recon, ECP don't let on about this and people think if they buy an LUK clutch from them its the same as from another factor, and think about that kind of business attitude and how it must spread across their range of parts.
And don't get me started on their Pagid braking!

I am now into year 4 of my Lion battery. All going well so far. My friends Bosch battery expired after 18 months.

No disrespect: But i have never managed to get anyone "in the trade" to agree that anything is good quality. Everyone has a different opinion. So i now tend to ignore the "experts" and make my own decisions.

The vast majority of business that Euro Car Parts make is to the trade, be it small garages or others "fast fit" type centres and these are when they call up and have parts delivered direct to them via a van. If you are buying an oil filter for under £5 and brake pads for £13 then the has to be a trade off in quality Verses price. Will the quality be as good as the main manufacturer at that price point it is hard to say either way but at the same time the vast majority of people that are using these products have no idea they are using them as they are usually part of a Service and MOT package for a fixed price.
With regard to pricing for the public, to get the prices that are online you need to reserve and collect or the prices in store can be much more.

Who supplies brakes for Halfords ?... as they stocking same brands as ECP. Are you trying to say that Pagid or even Brembo breakes sold at other retailers are better quality ? Pathetic... they are all made at lowest possible cost(Brembo at Ukraine if I remember correctly)
PS. Lots of garages lost some income due to people buying cheap parts straight from ECP(as they are widely available) and using garages only for fitting... or asking friend to do the job.

comments saying this is bad quality are baffling, its £24 with a 3 year guarantee. What more do you want? If it fails after a year take it back and get a new one free.
