Hot deal and extra hot for the description as it's important to know the actual HDR standard employed. Too many TV sets state HDR and don't indicate any standardisation such as Hisense TVs for example.

They're all at it and LG are no different - on lower range models they use a term called 'HDR Pro' whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.
yes, positive, it is not online I think it was on offer last week and my sin took a photo of it on his phone. It was the last one on shelf in Aberdeen/ Westhill store.

My son just bought the 55" version of this TV for £770 last night from Costco.
Just saying and won't post it as a deal, as people complain that Costco is only for members and not for the general public

Actually reviews have now put me off. Shame.
Edit - the higher range 55uf950V looks like the one to go for, £250 more but upscaling a hell of a lot better, 3d and its bigger.
If you read the reviews some state a downside in the supposed up-scaling, in practice though this works very well. For its main purpose which is 4k the picture is excellent.
if your going to look to pay more the Samsung 7000 range may be better option, although these are a few hundred more. Problem as always with any TV - "for a few hundred more i could get ......"

By the way as long as HDR 10 is not something you require would be OK. I think having the industry standard on new TV essential if you can.

Thank you for that explanation, it makes more sense now. But, if I do intend to find out whether they can support more than 50Hz for sports and low input lag on gaming, how can I do that? This is very rarely mentioned in the specs, even the full detailed manuals dont always have this information.

Can someone please recommend a 40-43inch TV for gaming and sports? Not looking to spend much, 300quid tops probably. Dont care much for 4k or smart features, just a good picture and reliability mostly.
Also, should I only look at those with 100hz refresh rates and above, as lots of the entry level TVs have only 50hz.
In short, 100hz and 50hz are 2 different things entirely and should not be compared.

I could be wrong but this UH model is more recent than the UF model being compared. This comes with ultra HD spec Freesat and freeview, plus free play for catch up services. I have the UH770v and can highly recommend it!

Haven't purchased one, but am looking into buying one, just maybe waiting for the price to drop a bit, but this TV is definitely a fantastic product, I have several friends who own it and have no faults against it, hands down the best tv they've ever owned. I came across this model in Self-ridges and fell in love with!

TBH I wouldn't rush to get JL to price match anything anymore. Certainly not the company they were, just look on trust pilot. The reviews are shocking.

Yes...ive already bought this TV 3 weeks back when another electrical website had it for £749 and JL were selling at £899 at that time...I got it price matched to £749 + got the 5 year warranty and JL had an offer on sound system back then so got the JL Soundbar and subwoofer for half price at £99

I think I would rather pay the extra £100 and get the next model up from Currys. 49UH850V from Currys.
This set has passive 3D and better dimming. Also comes with 5 year warranty

Great price. Think LG are one of the few manufacturers that will support dolby hdr and hdr10.
