seems to be priced £499 on argos. I m not an expert in judging how good this TV is, but thought some might find it useful.

I got this from amazon warehouse deals for 350.. at that price I'm very happy, but be warned it's a very basic set. No smart features, apps, all that gumpf. Only 2 HDMI ports which is almost unheard of these days. Personally I think it has a very nice picture, and I work with televisions every day. But I'm aware that it's a bit of a 4k 'fudge' http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/rgbw-201510084189.htm

Just bought this for £309 Texco Outlet. Really pleased with it but it only has 2 HDMI and 1 USB which is rather stingy for a modern TV. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it.
Also relieved that the price above is VAT excluded. Would have been gutted knowing I could have got a brand new set for £40 more (phew).

Could you tell me how you got it for that price? I'm interested in this set myself and was considering getting it yesterday for £369 here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201582258408 but if I could get it for £309, I think that would make it a must.
The only listing I can see for this set on Tesco Outlet is at £449, it is best offer but I'm pretty sure they would just instant decline such a low offer compared to the buy it now....

In day to day use I find the picture to be really quite excellent. I have one of them there amazon fire tv boxes, and when the screensaver kicks in it shows nice hi-res pics with a so-called 'ken burns' effect. During the panning, there is a noticeable judder in the image, which I think is caused by the cheeky fudging.
Also I realised my set is a 675V not a 640V. So it's entirely possible that all my rambling is even more pointless than it usually is

Thanks, this is interesting. Really surprised they got away with this actually since it seems it actually reduces the effective resolution of the set if I'm understanding it right. I'd be furious if I'd bought one at anything near RRP. That said as someone after 4K on the cheap, this might be a good set to watch (no pun) for price drops as the RGBW issue will probably cause it to keep getting cheaper. If I could get one in the range of £300 I'd probably pull the trigger anyway as I doubt you would even see the difference in a normal living room setting, it would be more of an issue using it as a PC monitor but at 49" it's big for that purpose anyway....

@colourpie Thanks for making me aware of the fudge. I'm not looking for a 4K TV right now but I will bear that in mind when I do.

I think think tesco have auto-accept within 10% so if it is £449 and you bid £405 which is £44 less, just under 10%. It should be accepted

Anyway, they have it 'buy it now' for £339 and I offered £309 and got accepted.
Think I'd prefer to wait to get it with 5 years backup, not off net
Great spot OP - thanks!
