When you add the tv and soundbar to your basket it takes off an extra £40 plus gives you the 1500 clubcard points .Then use the promo code TDX-GNKF to get a further £20 off !

I think you'll find most people don't watch on demand and just watch normal tv!

Give me a good quality HD any day. Unless the screen is massive (80ins) or you're sat within a few feet of the screen, your eye can't discern the difference between HD and UHD.

Except that most people watch on demand that is starting to be transmitted such as Netflix & Amazon Prime ... Not sure about others, I watch 87.2% of my TV via on demand services.

Really? most of my friends are netflix addicts ...! You are right - only about 24% of households have Netflix - but it will mean that 24% of households will have the potential connection to 4k streams (if they have good enough connections)

If buts and maybes. HD TV 'S will be more than adequate for the next few years! Good luck to you my friend, good luck

Not a Hot vote for the TV as LG make pretty duff TV's but for the rest which is a stonking lot of extras - and it's not even Christmas (that was July, on QVC so sorry if you missed it - but happy Easter everyone).

The difference is very clear in 40 inch TV as well. 4k is set of technologies not just only the screen.

4k is primarily a set of marketing based 'advancements' to get people to buy new Tvs and take out subscription services and is for well off people or people who have to have the latest stuff.[/quote]
A good HD screen beats a average 4k screen; a poor backlit, poor contrast 4k picture still has a poor contrast and a poorly lit picture....

Full HD never beats 4k. 4k is real not marketing. I guess you have never seen 4k TV.

I have and only the good (read expensive) 4k sets have a good picture. Picture detail is only one facet of screen performance...

Wrong! 1080p signal will look better on a 1080p tv. On a 4k tv there is not enough data so the TV has to "guess" the missing data. This is known as upscacling and my not be as good as the native picture.
