Feck is that how much these things cost!
I can get the curved Samsung 34" for same money (after staff discount)
(although it is a refurb - but refurb'd by me :stuck_out_tongue: )

At 34" it's the same height as a 27" so good for office stuff...

Lg monitors tend to have alot of screen bleeding. I have the QHD version. I should've gone for a Samsung one.

Latest gen ultrawides have (nearly) addressed the problem.

The samsung is terrible. I had to send it back. Really bad motion blur and artifacting.
Wasnt a one off either, a few video's of it on youtube.

paid £550 for my X34 Gsync. Once you go widescreen you stuck in a world of split screen browsing hotdeals while watching you tube videos.. Or seriously good gaming with a graphics card price tag that burns holes in your pocket.

Should read...
Once you go 21:9 you're stuck in a world of poorly rendered HUD/UI elements that don't scale correctly, and or applications that can't handle the resolution.
Gaming on these whilst a nice idea is useless for FPS games, FOV is just too wide. Great for RTS/RPG stuff though.
Wouldn't use a monitor (for gaming) without sync now though, it's just too buttery.

This is literally my life now with the X34. How do you prefer your youtube videos, on the left or right hand side? I prefer right hand side, personally speaking :stuck_out_tongue:

Well if it's straight as you say I'd go see a doctor. :man:

Ahhh, but you should my comment. I paid £550 for a X34 Gsync. Couldn't refuse that offer.
I have no problem in FPS games.

Happy to entertain, but show me a shot of CS:GO on your 21:9 without rendering issues with the HUD.
In fact, most competitive games are incompatible with that aspect ratio, like DOTA. It's all there on Google...

You are criticising ultra wide monitors.. yet provide a link to an article that is singing their praises.. unusual!

I would never go back to anything less than 34 inch UWS now. Tried a few types e.g. AOC, iiyama, etc. This seems like a great deal/price.
The_Hoff

You clearly can't read.
I never said they were demonic, I simply said that buying a UWS comes with foibles that IMO diminish their value. In this case, rendering issues, lack of publisher support and BD scaling issues.

I mean a 27 inch 4k screen and a 27 inch 1440p screen....

demonic
de·mon
(dē′mən)
n.
1. An evil supernatural being; a devil.
2. A persistently tormenting person, force, or passion: the demon of drug addiction.
3. One who is extremely zealous, skillful, or diligent: worked away like a demon; a real demon at math.
4. Variant of daimon.
My criticism is leveled at the lack of support for the aspect ratio, which therefore makes purchasing a 21:9 monitor less than ideal.
