My better half wants a new tablet and in particular a Windows tablet. I have seen cheaper tablets but this seems to be the best combination of quality and price. It gets quite good reviews. With the John Lewis 3 year warranty thrown in I thought this seemed a good deal. It was £179.99 yesterday and so I put a request in to match Argos which they agreed and the price has since dropped on their website to £169.99. With Argos you will get a £10 voucher but personally think the extra warranty must be worth forgoing that.
Anyway as always you will decide how good a deal this is and I will look forward to hearing constructive comments should better alternatives be out there.

Any chance that you could reply to Yorkie's question as to where the rebranded item can be had for a lot less?

I don't know this product range that well but a search of HUKD reveals prices below £100 for various models?

The John Lewis specs look wrong, aren't these Cherry Trail Z8350 based?
Yeah, looks like the MIIX 300 specs, same processor anyway. Has anyone purchased one yet?

I think its safe to say that John Lewis has got it wrong - this isn't a Miix 310 they're describing, it's the specs for a 300. The MPN is correct for a 310, but the processor and screen res are those of the 300.
The previous poster is bang on, 300's available from Argos ebay store for £100. Going price for 310 is £170, or thereabouts.
£70 extra for better processor and screen - depends on what you want to use it for, but £70 buys an awful lot of Tunnocks Caramel Wafers

I only paid £55.00 more for the Asus t300 which has a bigger screen, double the ram and 4 times the hard drive space. I had the miix 3 which was £149.99 also from JL. So what we have is a newer model with a slightly quicker processor and much lower resolution for £20.00 more. Not a good deal in my opinion. The miix 3 had 1920 x 1200 resolution screen which was nice. Looks like Lenovo are going backwards on the miix range but I see from their website their would appear to be two screen resolution models for the miix 310 just like there was for the miix 3. If only they could employ someone with some brains who could come up with the ide of giving a product a different model number when the is such a difference in important parts like screen resolution.

Asus T100 Chi is the one to look for at this price point. I got one on the recent offer and it's a cracking bit of kit with a premium feel/quality build. It's got 64gb on board and FHD screen and an active stylus so much better spec than this and the battery life is great. I stuck a 128gb micro sd card in it and i'm using it a lot more than I originally intended.

Spot on! The T100 Chi is way better than the other machines selling for around the same price. Excellent screen, 64GB, good build quality, and reasonable keyboard. The micro-usb connector is a possible niggle for some, but the Bluetooth keyboard connection gives me nor real problems. I think the balance of features certainly gives a nice little unit. It is no XPS13, but I won't cry if it gets nicked or I drop it.

Don't forget the Toshiba Click 10. The older one with the Z3x processor is cheap and runs just fine. The one by the OP is good though...

I agree, would definitely go with the t100 chi at this price for the extra drive space. JL need to confirm the right model / spec. I remember when the miix 300 was first advertised by them I asked them if it came with the keyboard as it wasn't shown in the advert and they said NO. I suggested they should get someone to open a box and check as I knew it did. How can people right up adverts without having the product in front of them or companies have technical people who answers queries with false rubbish.

11.6" FHD
32GB is limiting though, according to review, not enough space to do anniversary update.
