Their pictures of white shirts on white backgrounds really emphasise the white, and nothing else.

I can only tell you my experience - the two suits I got from the outlets were of a lower quality than a washable suit I'd got from M&S in the sales. The shirts were no better. There was one jacket I kept which was of a much higher quality - it had a different label and came with tags and other material explaining the brand. The gulf in quality between that and the rest of the material was vast.
Jaeger themselves are perfectly upfront (I discovered afterwards) that they make stuff specifically for the outlet:
"The Outlet stores also stock special buy ranges, which have been specifically designed and manufactured for the Jaeger Outlet stores to enhance the range and complement the previous season high street stock"
It's a know trick of the trade - most of the big names do it.
Thanks for the heads up. Never had a problem with Jaeger outlet stuff - always been good quality as far as i can tell.

Cold - most of the outlet stuff is of a low quality and a sham it's made for the outlet. The last time they had one of these sales I ordered a lot of stuff - only one of the items was one that appeared to be an item that was sold for full price - the rest was sub-BHS in quality and all went back.

Complete nonsense. Jaeger clothing is excellent quality, I own a number of their shirts and suits (as well as New and Lingwood, Crombie, Armani, Boss, Ralph Lauren, etc, etc) thast I have bought from their outlet and elswehwere, and the quality is one of the best around for the money you pay. I was recently speaking to the Manager of Gieves and Hawkes in Winchester who admitted that despite the gulf in pricing between the two brands, there is actually not a lot of difference in quality of materials between them.
The stuff I've bought has always been stuff they sell in their bricks and mortar shops. I've even dealt with the shops when calling to resolve queries.
