Saw this was back onsite just now. Decent if Asda is your usual. You're not tied down to certain days or times. If there is a space then you can book for delivery in it at no extra cost. £40 min spend.

My one is about to run out. Are Asda doing another special discount rate? Does anyone know. Mind you 60 for the whole year isn't too bad. Asda app is so easy, subs can be an issue.

I did the same, was really surprised when they said they could not do anything. Probably spend £2k on groceries a year and they would not knock £30 off to meet the Asda price.

Thanks for this info........I've just contacted Tesco to see if they can price match their anytime delivery saver to Asdas ( I'm a loyal Tesco shopper) but surprisingly they told me they were unable to!
Oh well I guess it's time to give Asda a try! (Bad move Tesco)
(By the way, Tesco want £60 as opposed to Asda at £30!!!!)

Asda and tesco's have a downfall on morrisons and Ocado, due to the fact Ocado have a 25year deal with Morrison for doing there home delivery service, in which case none of the products are picked In store, they are picked in a gigantic warehouse with lots of volume so it minimises subs and missing items, also you get 1hour time slot which are normal on time unless due to heavy traffic or any other reason. So when you see a morrisons van it not from local store it's from an Ocado spoke which and dotted around country and can travel up to 200miles on one full van based on travel around a region e.g north west, south east etc. Asda good priced etc but home delivery service is way behind.

I have this and it utterly terrible - only two hourly slots available - always late even for such a generous time slot, always loads of subs - I spend more going to top up my shopping ! Maybe that's their evil strategy!

Thank OP signed up and paid for the first delivery now looking forward to friday and then next friday..... hope this eliminates me leaving the house to go grocery shopping since it is a pain and embarrassment picking, packing, loading, unloading. will still go asda every now and then for a walkabout and just getting the items i like to see and buy rather than picking boxed items that are always the same. no brainer. Great Find. It would also be great for the mrs. to not go asda with the newly born and pick items while holding the baby. Wont mind substitutes either since i have a choice to return them when not happy.

It really depends on your local store. Our local Asda store is not too bad but get the odd problem. Tesco comes from a store that is not our local one and really is awful. We gave up with it. Had deliveries that never came, came while we were out and a card left saying they came at the time suppose to (even though we got home 30mins before the slot to find a card saying they came with a time 30mins in the future) and often the fresh rolls had boot prints in them. The final straw was only half our shopping was delivered. When we complained we were told the rest was at the store 20 miles away if we wanted to collect it!

At £2.50 a month you only have to have shopping delivered once a month to make it worth while.

We took this offer last time with auto renewal, about five deliveries in a month costing us 50p per delivery which returned in the form of vouchers from asdapriceguarantee website. You can compare last three deliveries and get credit voucher if the cost of your shopping in not 10% cheaper than other superstores.

Maybe it's only Northern Ireland but my ASDA deliveries have a minimum spend of £25. This offer says minimum spend £40. But good find many thanks !! I have just checked and it seems £25 without pass but if you sign up for the yearly pass minimum is £40

With tesco delivery saver I can spend £10 on tesco direct to get the item delivered for free....that is the main reason I bought the plan as don't do much grocery shopping from tesco.
I was wondering if the same threshold limit applies to their George orders if I bought this plan from Asda?

Watch out if you're thinking of cancelling your current monthly delivery pass to take advantage of the promotional offer. I did this last time but it doesn't cancel immediately and you can't buy a new pass till the date it was due to expire that month has been reached, this turned out to be too late for me and I ended up missing out :-(

It depends on your local store, I've been using asda's for years. Always on time , get quite a few subs but lamb breast subbed for a leg of lamb is a no Brainer and dates for my milk and chilled stuff is always a week or two in advance. Same can't be said for tesco where I live though !

I wish Morrisons would do this, I picked up a year from asda in their last offer and their service is terrible, I'll get loads of subs even when I explicitly put no subs, short dates, and the worst is you pick a slot and they show up whenever they want, I had another guy get arsey because he was two hours early and I wasn't ready for him, like it was my fault.

I couldn't agree more. I gave them a try and used the free collect service over a few months. Loads of items missing with either no or poor substitutions. Tesco usually give equal or better substitutions, where asda seem to usually give subs that are less in value for same price. If giving a sub means they have to give something higher value, you usually get nothing. I've also had many damaged items. I usually get money off codes from Tesco and use £1 delivery slots, so I'll stick with them.

Thanks OP for the heads up. What's not to like? Stupidly cheap, ASDA is the cheapest supermarket by far for "own brand" items with the 10% cheaper price guarantee, and what most people seem to miss is with a delivery pass a one hour slot can be picked still for free which makes a big difference we find compared to a two hour slot.

Re: substitutions. Of course they happen, occasionally they are daft but more often than not the subbed item is better value, and any unacceptable one can always be sent back.

Plus it comes from our local store whereas Tesco comes from 30-40 miles away which seems a huge waste of fuel.

Totally agree. Since switching to tesco about 2 months ago I think I have had 1 substitute item whereas with asda it's was about 3 a week. Tesco offer better 1 hour delivery slots too.

I have just switched to Tesco and on there free trials.

Sick of Asda to be honest so worth £2.50 more. We spend more going to the shops replacing missing items!
