HP Envy 4520 on sale in Sainsbury's at the moment for £35. I was out to get the same model from Currys for £45 when I saw this.

Picked this up is morning as have been fed up with my old HP C4760 printer as it keeps forgetting my wifi settings and is a real pain in the proverbial to configure, and this was only £3 more than Sainsburys were asking for the old printer's cartridges (which I needed anyway).
Setup was a doddle (did it from my phone), and AirPrint support is a godsend.
Signed up for the £1.99 instant ink once the 3 month trial ends, as we don't print loads anyway, and now never need to worry about ink.

aanyyone kniw oof cheap but gooodd quaality photo paaper?
It's a much better printer though - faster, better quality, an additional photo paper tray and 9 months worth of printing - you'll save money on the ink alone

Not just 100 pages, but 100 FULL ON COLOUR BORDERLESS pages. Sorry, I just had to! LOL

Not done the maths as I dont print too often, but inks for both Epson and Canon are super cheap.

Dont get Canon, horrid software and paper detection will drive you mental, barely usable via wifi - multiple issues, 1st one sent back as would repeatedly not detect paper, next one had major issues with WiFi and I am pretty competent on a technical level i.e. it was the hardware at fault. I have the MG6450, horrible machine, my old Cannon was amazing and lasted as long as I can remember.
Get an Epson instead, did consider the HP initially (nice looking machine) but expensive ink and no alternatives to original at the time, Epson is the way to go for cheap printing.
Hope it helps someone.

Cheaper than £3.49 a month for 100 pages?

I understand what you say. These are the issues I keep coming across with the different brands:
Epson - print head is prone to clogging. Not easy to fix. Updating software can be hit and miss, with updates blocking compatibles usage on a large number. Build quality on average is good.
Canon - for many - print heads can be removed for easy cleaning/unblocking. Compatibles aplenty - and cheap too. Software is hit and miss, and build quality has taken a dive recently.
Hp - expensive inks (unless using instant ink) but relatively mediocre prints compared to the other two. Print heads are incorporated into the cartridge - so with every replacement - u get some head (new).

100 for £3.49
300 for £7.99
It's a steal if you're a novice photographer; 300 decent quality A4 photo prints would cost FAR more than £7.99 in ink if you were to buy the cartridges instead of enrol in Instant Ink.

I believe you can do 100 PAGES a month for £3.99

Be advised. Even printing a single full stop, counts as one page within the instant ink limit.
I am currently considering buying one of the cannon pixma printers (mg5750 or mg6850), as (very) cheap compatibles are available, and the print quality is better.
Would be interested to hear opinions regarding the pixma printers verses the hp here.
I think it's better to judge by the total cost of ownership over the warranty period (two years say), vs the initial purchase price.

He means £1.99 a month, and you can only print 50 pages with that plan. But you can print anything; be it a photo or a letter.

Had 9 month instant ink trial. Decent printer. Air print works flawlessly for the apple folk

The one with 9 month free instant ink trial is only available at Currys / PC World and is the Envy 5546. It is exclusive to them

Decent price for a decent printer. Just a heads up though. After installing the software for this you will be prompted to update it. If you do then you will no longer be able to use refilled cartridges in it only official HP which are much more expensive.

Most likely .....

These will probably only come with a one month free trial of HP Instant Ink.
The Envy 4524 at Currys PC World comes with five months of Instant Ink, so potentially 1500 pages can be printed (plus the pages you can print from the included cartridges in the box), and represents far better value for money.
