according to technical specs. the screen is FHD.

​Windows 7 remains supported into 2020! Support is no longer free that's all. When was the last time you contacted Microsoft about a problem? I even have the process disabled. Perhaps they will fix windows 10.

Support would be very much required for security patches.... Hackers these days find new ways to rob and without proper patch it's risky

Or search for the Anniversary Edition update file on Microsoft downloads, does the same thing (that's what I've been using!)

I brought the i5, when I installed a copy of window 10, from a copy I had laying around, found it didn't require a key, as the bios knew the machine was entitled to it anyway so should be fine :smiley:

Beware of Debenhams Plus. Worst retailer Ive ever had the misfortune to deal with. Would vote anything from them cold as everything gets outsourced via 0870 numbers to different providers. Would be decent deal otherwise!

This is standard practice with business laptops which ship with Windows 7.

I don't know I read the blurb and if anything goes wrong you cannot approach Debenhams in this case you have to go through HP. I hate it when shops abnegate their responsibility and I need a physical presence I can return something to but that is just me.

Thanks a lot :smiley: I can do with 'budget i7', 'all right-ish', and budget look - as it is supposed to be the first laptop for teenage use.
I think it is future-proof enough and price tag is not too heavy - but it is just me.

256 GB SSD Hard Drive - very small these days....
