i dont see this as a deal to be honest. people like sainsburys are selling them for £9 and you dont have to waot for it to be delivered

Ive found that, too. I recently had them trying to tell me that the prices are listed non inclusive of tax and they therefore wouldn't refund the difference between what I paid on a preorder and what they were charging on the actual day of release.

Expedited delivery not next/same day :disappointed: Gonna have to go out to get this bc don't wanna wait 3 days. Heat for price though.

I got an alert from the Amazon iPhone app early this morning saying they were issuing a £1 refund for my order so hopefully others get this as well

I got an email this morning saying £1 had been refunded. This was automatic as I hadn't asked for it. I preordered my copy though and was paid for on Friday.

Didn't ask for it, so it was nice of them to do it. Pre-ordered back in JUNE.

The question is when is J K Rowling going to sell Harry Potter to Disney for billions of pounds thus leading to a series of Harry Potter prequels and sequels zzzzzzz. I ll give it 20 yrs.

Thats a pretty good description of what it feels like to me when Ive read a play as its hard to remember which character is which and is very unsatisfying. Lets face it very few people buy plays to read. Only Potter mania leads people to do things that they would not do otherwise. Which is why J.K Rowling has a licence to print money. Dont get me wrong I like Harry Potter but like most things these days they love to wring every single pound out of their loyal fans!

But the reverse is also true, this has been made possible FOR the loyal fans since a lot won't have the chance to see it on the stage.

I'm glad I saw your comment waterboy8535; my wife is an HP fan and I was going to buy her the book for holiday reading. I didn't realise it was a script until now (I didn't research much obviously) and I don't think she'd enjoy it. HUKD just saved me some money! :smiley:

If she is a big fan she would probably still like the book. Personally I found it easy to read the script, and I enjoyed the book overall. The first half was better in my opinion, when you got to see what the characters are like 20-odd years later, and their relationship with their children.

​agreed, hopefully they do make one, I love the audio books of the HP series, and this is ready made for it. Perhaps Stephen Fry would be up for the delivering the narrative!

Honestly I'm not sure this is worth £9, it is just lines and took me just 3 hours to read. BUT for completeness sake it is worth a read for Harry Potter fans so I'm pleased I bought it and read it. Interestingly having read all of the other books I didn't mind the fact it was lines because in my head I filled in all the gaps and blanks where a novel would have because I know the story so far so well!

Wow so people who preordered got it delivered free AND a £1 refund, whereas people buying now have to pay delivery cause it's under the £10 threshold? That's cold in a way... Just trying to funnel us all towards Prime again?

Personally Prime doesn't appeal, and I tend to only make 10 orders a year with them on average, but Prime seems to work for a lot of people. Just weird that Amazon introduced this "membership club" thing, I guess it was due, they'd given us so much for so little for so long. They had to start getting more lump sum payments off people...
