Was this terrible? Guess I love terrible stuff, because I really enjoyed this! I've seen it a fair few times.

I don't mind this, can't help but to see gary as rodney everytime, it's not amazing but also not offensive, certainly a lot better than some of the crap on TV at the moment, such as Mrs Browns Boys

This show was absolutely fractal. Like a six-year fever dream but one that had the bloke from Bread in it.

What happened in the end?? Did he have to pick one timeline to remain in??

Think he got trapped in the 1940's. They're gonna bring a new episode/series out though!

The new one-off episode will be shown on BBC1 on Friday 2nd September at 9.00pm.
There's is evidence to suggest time slips are real. Check out Bold Street in Liverpool. Several cases reported especially back to the 1950's and 1960's.

I always enjoyed it, however it has it's flaws when you think about it. You can travel back and change the course of the war, save lives, and all he can think to do is knob a barmaid. Sometimes he did stuff and it effected the future, other times not, really not well thought out. However it was amusing, and I always liked it and did again when I did a rewatch a few years back when it was on one of the freeview channels

The main criticism is the morally of the protagonist, effectively cheating on his modern day partner in an alternate reality.

To be fair to the man, they did change his wife from a blabbering dimwit loser to a rich and successful business woman half way through.
They also changed his 40's bit on the side half way through.
You can't really be cheating on your wife when shes not even born. Likewise you cant really be cheating with a woman that died years ago. win win.

more annoyingly.
You can't even buy a complete box set of a series that ended 17 years ago without a bleeding special or new series ruining the completeness!

Good series. I enjoyed it. His wife from the present was annoying so he did well with the slightly less annoying barmaid from the past

The changed both his present and 40's wife midway through the series. The 40's one was a downgrade, and the present day was an upgrade.
Truly awfully stuff, and Nick Lyndhurst is pound-for-pound the worst actor of his time, but it was strangely enjoyable.

By "evidence" do you mean "a few people said they went back in time for a bit"?
bamshopper
22 Aug 16#22
Evidence from a decent number of people, across the globe - some very credible witnesses. Though no-one has actually claimed to have lived in the past / future - it's something is claimed happens very briefly (ie a few minutes). Although the case of the two sisters in France is very intriguing and there's an interesting case of a taxi driver stopping at lights and seeing the area around him transform into an earlier period for it to change back as he realised what he was looking at... never poo poo the unknown, until you've researched it... cue some spooky music...

The JFK series: 11.22.63 that was on Sky Atlantic earlier this year was a better/fancier/higher budget version of this show.
I recommend it!

Not poo pooing anything - just questioning the use of witness accounts and heresay as "evidence". It's not really evidence so much as conjecture.

Well Google it and see for yourself. They had a feature on Bold Street in Liverpool on the Howard Hughes show on Talk Radio the Sunday before last.

I agree - witness testimony isn't evidence as such, but if we are to believe them then there are some great tales out there!

In that case, it must be true!

At least it's more credible than any Daily Mail offering.
