Garmin nuvi 58LM 5" Sat Nav with UK, Ireland and Full Europe Lifetime Maps
Full lifetime up dates.
Seems a good price for 5" screen as the 4" is £10 dearer as several outlets.
Yes i know some people will enter into the mobile phone saga (they usually do) but just perhaps consider for a moment that not everybody has a UK mobile phone. I have a mobile contract from a different country as its where i work so to use it in the UK i would have to use data roaming which would incur large charges, so think about it.

You don't need data to use GPS on your phone. Try Here We Go app.
The title and picture are of the 58LM the one at £59 is the 55LM

I have this version and that is a good price even though the model is 2/3 years old.
I was going to get this as a birthday present for my son, but nearest one with stock is about 100 miles away.

try mapfactor navigator from the app store, once downloaded it uses no data

Its not as polished as Here, but good alternative nonetheless. Here really feels professional, having been developed by Nokia.

I think this is the model of Garmin that I have. Can't fault it for directions - never had to go out and buy a separate cradle to fix it to the windscreen, oh plus a car charger to keep it charged in the car - both of those came straight out the box - amazing eh? Also don't need to go in and turn this notification off and that notification off just so my directions don't get interrupted - I just turn it on and go. Imagine that......
You can only imagine if you're still trying to crowbar your phone into being everything

It seems that some people may need an app to find the app !!!
Some of us older people just want a device to tell us how to get from A to B and leave it in the car or the cupboard for months at a time and not having to hunt through an app on a phone.
The post is not a debate or a discussion its just a simple post saying here is a cheap (in my opinion) sat nav. If you want to or prefer to use a phone then fine stick up a post with a link to where to download it for free.

its just not true that the only way to use satnav on a phone will involve data charges. Even Google Maps now allows you to download your maps to the phone and HereMaps is even better in that respect.
HereMaps was developed by Nokia and is now owned by a consortium of car manufacturers and its very good with free maps for the most of the world.

I was the same, However upon some searching it appears they have exactly the same model available as ex display although listed at £84?
I did mail them asking why i can get an ex display as plenty stock everywhere but why is it dearer ? The guy just disconnected the live chat and i was unable to re-connect so have mailed them asking the same question.
Appears it might be a mistake on their website but if they had any honour about the company they would offer the ex display at the listed price of £59.50.
Ill wait and see what they say

Here maps are good, navigator is better imo but as someone who drives and needs sat nav every day you cannot beat a dedicated unit rather than a mobile phone.
