Buy two 400ml bottles of Herbal Essences Shampoo/Conditioner from participating retailers and upload your receipt to get a voucher for a free cut and blowdry.
No list of the salons yet (it gets emailed within 14 days of your request) but it seems a good deal to me- fingers crossed there is one that is close to me
Edward Scissorhands is the hairdresser and for the London area's it's Sweeney Todd.

thats a terrible promotion to be honest. you have to buy the 2 bottles, upload your receipt, then wait 14 days to see where the salons are you can use ?

A complete con! Don't Bother!
You have to upload your reciept and then wait - then you pick your hairdressers, then you wait for them to call you, then find out that actually thats not the hairdressers and just their booking agent so you have to wait again for the salon itself to call which of course they never do.... Each of these steps takes 2 weeks, so I'm now 2 months on and still need a haircut - gonna have to find somewhere else!
On a plus the shampoo was a pleasent suprise!

I went through the whole process fairly quickly, booked my appointment with a salon in Middleton, Manchester. The hairdresser was perfectly pleasant but said the offer was for a dry cut only. I was in the salon chair for exactly 5 minutes (I know because I timed it) while she snipped the bottom of my hair and then sent me off on my way. If this was a way of getting in new customers to the salon, it failed miserably.

So I'm supposed to buy the products (in the same transaction), register, upload my receipt (within 14 days), wait for up to two weeks before I even find out IF there's a participating salon locally, then continue to jump through a few more hoops...
Is it April again already? :smirk: I'm sure that they'll sell a few more bottles as a result of this promotion - but not to me!

Agree. Dreadful that they won't post salons upfront. Singers go on nationwide tours but they don't visit places like Lincoln. So not falling for this con

I think I remember having trouble when they did this offer before , not going to bother this time as if it's the Hair Group there is not one local to me anyway!
Will wait for a 20% off Groupon code for a local salon , have got some good cheap haircuts and treatments etc that way

6 weeks in from buying the shampoo and I've still not been able to even make an appointment! First you wait for email, then you phone to book appt. but it's just to validate voucher, three phone calls later and now I'm waiting for them to call me and book the appointment! I'm getting split ends on split ends while I'm waiting!!!

Same here. They send through info to the Hair group weekly, she said she'd escalate my call. This is a very long process, it really isn't worth it!

This has happened previously with another company , lots of bad feeling from clients who expected a free haircut , with a top stylist charging say £70-00 for their time how can a Herbal Essances fund this ?

OP here - my code eventually arrived after over 2 weeks, managed to select a reasonably local salon and printed my voucher ok.
When I called the salon they didn't have a clue and told me to call back next week as the owner was away. I called the customer services helpline on the voucher, who promised to look into it and come back to me asap (as I had the day off, I was hoping to get my hair cut that day). Didn't hear back that day or the next so went elsewhere. Voucher doesn't expire until 20 Dec so may give it another go nearer then.
A bit disappointed that the customer service/communication around this offer has been a bit lacking but as I buy herbal essences anyway I will hopefully still get my free haircut.

I'm in the process of trying to book my haircut. I nearly didn't see the reply email with my approval and code in. Took 12 days for mine. I then picked a salon, a lot of them seem to be with the hair group. After I had selected one of these I then got told I'd have to phone up to book. Turns out for this group of salons they direct you to the same 0871 number that they have listed for herbal essences customer services so I presume it is one where you have to use their 'Concierge Team' to arrange the booking... at 13p per min plus your phone companies access charge. Which seems a bit rubbish to me. I bypassed them and found a number for the hair group that was a local rate number and they are passing my details to the salon who will call me back within 14 days, if not I've to call back the hair group. So yes. Quite a long drawn out process so far but I buy herbal essences anyway so I figured why not.

Got my booking receipt and chose graham Webb as my option. Called them to book haircut as instructed and they said they had no idea about this promotion and would need to speak to their head of office on Monday. She also mentioned something about the haircut being free but having to pay for blow dry in the t&c's when she looked at them. Same old S@&t with these free promotions. No one in store ever seems to know anything about them and and load of time is wasted repeating yourself that they are a participating store!!

I emailed their customer services and asked who the salon was in my area and got this reply
Thank you for your reply, really sorry we only supply listings to validated customers as the salon’s have asked not to give there details out until the customer wishes to make a booking, the salon’s were worried they would be inundated with customers enquires before they were valid customers
sounds a load of cack to me

Looking further into the deal you need to purchase the two 400ml Herbal Essences from Sainsburys, Boots, Superdrug, Morrisons, Tesco, ASDA, Waitrose, Ocado, Wilco, Savers, Co-op, Amazon, Iceland, Home Bargains.
Price for one 400ml bottle seems to range between £1.50 and £2.00

says nationwide in the faq's, but would have been better if they publish the list of hairdressers participating first.
What salons can I choose from?
A. We have a large selection of independent salons around the country that will be participating. You can search and view participating salons close to you once you have been successfully validated.
