Demo was crap, why can't they just make a decent final fantasy with an old battle system, ff12's battlesystem was great, make one like that.

Decent price,a few pennies cheaper at base for what it's worth, (which I had pre-ordered but now cancelled)
Think I'll play the waiting game for a change

Go to deal link isnt working for me, here's the link again!
Brilliant price for a AAA game these days (which is sad I know).

Wish other publishers would price their games like Square does. Heat.

Square don't set their prices. The retailer's do. If people would pay £60 for a Final Fantasy game in 2016, that's what they'd charge you.

I have no idea what day one means. Is this worth something or does day one just mean "mugs who bought the incomplete version initially"?

FINAL FANTASY® XV Day One Edition includes the following additional digital content:
Weapon: Masamune (FFXV) - The legendary sword Masamune is back, specially redesigned for FINAL FANTASY XV. Add it to your arsenal and cut your enemies down to size.
So apparently it just contains a DLC Sword...bit lame if you ask me...

I'm hoping World of Final Fantasy will be more like the old days. Definitely has an interesting battle system. Even if the stacking thing does look abit silly.

Never sure why preorders get heat, even if you go beyond the fact you are gambling on the game being good (and going on the demo it may be another disappointment like FF13) you still have to consider that this may not be close to the best price you could pay at release. Given most big games are released full of bugs to hit release windows these days, I really see no point not waiting at least a month to pick up the finished product at (usually) around the £20 mark.
Bravely Default on 3DS should scratch that itch, it is effectively a FF game in all but name.

I agree, I do prefer a decent ATB.
however, they have to follow the trends set by the newer generations in order to appeal to them and make more moola $$$$

It's been a very long time since FF games were any good, I downloaded the Demo but couldn't even muster up the effort to try it after watching gameplay videos.
Looks like they're shoehorning the same combat mechanics in to the FF7 remake too. How a game developer can be so out of touch with it's fanbase is totally beyond me.
Heat for the price but I'll be avoiding this.

Well if youre tight on budget and only get to buy one game every now and then, id want that game to last me quite a while. Of course there's a few games that are short and just as amazing, but id rather rent them than pay full £60 for a 5 hour experience.

A publisher can control the price of their games. This is why you will see certain publishers with more expensive and fewer price drops than other publishers.
Krooner
13 Aug 16#27
No, they can suggest an RRP, but at the end of the day retailers set prices in the UK.
Talib
14 Aug 16#28
Sure...if you live in a world where price fixing does not exist. There is no coincidence that certain publishers games are consistently higher than other publishers regardless of their quality, print or sales numbers.

I used to work in games retail. If publishers set the prices there needs to be a buy back system, like there is in the USA. That would mean a fixed price across different retailers. How do you think the supermarkets or online retailers undercut each other? Do you think they're all individually ringing up SE asking if they can knock a quid off??
The UK (and most of Europe to my knowledge) take the games from publishers on credit, usually (in particularly with Square Enix) based on the publishers own "projected sales figures". SE are particularly unrealistic with these (see the sales numbers for games they feel have "under performed") as a result retailers will likely have decided to price their games competitively in the hope that they're not stuck with surplus copies after the release window.
You get companies like Nintendo, Atlus or some smaller niche publishers that keep their ship numbers (the amount of copies they send to retailers at a time) conservative, as a result you'll see the price drop a lot slower than on something retailers have been strong armed into taking on like; 'Tomb Raider'; 'Hitman: Absolution' or 'Final Fantasy: Type 0', because the publisher has threatened to withhold the next big release.
All this was true as of the mid 2000s, but I don't think anything has really changed. Publishers don't want it to. If they ship 10,000 copies of 'super RPG 91' and the retailer's only sold 6000 copies, the publisher has still been paid for 10,000 copies. This is why you often see "shipped" numbers being reported at share holder meetings, rather than "sell through". To the publishers; shipped = money in the bank, to a certain extent they care very little about the excess sitting on store shelves, stock rooms or the bargain bin for 99p.

Extra info:
Simplygames are known to occasionally deliver pre-ordered stuff early. I got Batman Arkham knight 6 days before release and a youtuber got No Mans Sky 4 days early. Not sure if its a SimplyGames thing but hey it could happen again.

Thought recent ff's have crap sales? if appealing to the new crowd means making a crap battle system then thats a wrong decision, they should use a system that works.
I'm also disgusted that ff7 remake is going to be the crappy ff15 battlesystem, unless they have changed it recently.
