Hi - It works and didn't take that long to arrive (it came last week) - It just charged the G4 from 39% to 95% in about 45 minutes.

Fast charging battery cells creates heat, heat denatures/damages battery cells.
This is why many EV cars recommend only using the super-fast chargers when absolutely needed

Fast chargers like this should only really be used in emergencies!
Using a fast charger as a normal day-to-day charger will significantly reduce the life of your non-user replaceable phone battery.

The G4plus is supplied with the Motorola quick charger as standard though?

I am interested to learn your source of information that regular use of a fast charger significantly reduces battery life. Surely the premium brands like Samsung would have been caught out by now? My understanding is that they are fine as the charger contains the necessary circuitry to prevent that. Main thing if using a 3rd party charger is to ensure its maximum power output (Amps being the main one) does not exceed that of the official charger. Worth noting that skimping on a 3rd party charger could be a false economy and potentially dangerous.

Yeah pumping 2-3 amps into a mobile battery can't do much good i'd imagine although maybe li-ion can take it better your ni-mh AA cells?

I don't understand, is this better than the charger what comes with the moto g4?

yes. it gives and almost full charge in 30mins, there is a moto turbopower charger for £25 that gives up to 8 hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging.

Both the moto G4 and moto G4 Plus models have the same CPU that has integrated Fast Charge circuitry. For marketing reasons the moto G4 comes with a cheap normal speed charger while the more expensive G4 Plus benefits from a Fast Charge charger in the box. Stick with the normal speed charger and you lose a major benefit, so acquiring a Fast Charge compatible charger is a no brainer.

What's wrong with the ikea multi phone charger? Better value IMHO

the amps per port don't make it fast charge. hence it's cheaper

Mine is going through RMA at the moment, you can put it in the freezer for an hour to get your data off. Worked for me, however the hairdryer method didn't.

Is the moto g4 quick charge 3.0 compatible?
Its 617 so 3.0 on the table above but cant find any confirmation online.
Also many saying 3.0 not worth it as not big improvement on 2.0

wow, how did you manage that? Just had the boot-loop issue recently and they gave me a replacement deice (refurb), even though it says on the note that the motherboard has been replaced. The note also states the condition as "good" but it has a few scratches on the screen so I have been in touch and asked for another one.
