LG U880 might be available secondhand. Apart from the Doro range only other flip with 3g is LG wine smart butis over £100.
Doro 615 springs to mind but the latest at Argos is Doro 6520 £79.95, it's not locked to any network.

Got the old man on it as a dog walking/spare phone he joined 2015 on 321 rates. I thought they had changed current plans when you mentioned it but it's only a opt out of the higher rates for those who ask for the 321 plan, sneaky as hell I say!
When you click on rates in their website it says 321

I spoke to the "customer service" dept (the random on his mobile) and he said those discounted prices are for existing customers only.

Have you tried their sim's? I've never heard of them but I need something for a cheap payg option for my retired Father - it's pretty much just for incoming calls but I'd like to have it so a couple of calls dont eat through all of his credit! I tried the 3 payg sim in his Alcatel 2012g and it wouldn't work - then I found that it's a network issue with these "non smart" phones.
Their prices seem the same as the 321 payg sim from 3, but there's also a refer a friend option, so if anyone out there uses their network, feel free to pm me and you can get the referral credit!
EDIT - ignore that - I was just on the phone to their "customer service" department (which just sounds like a rather uninterested bloke on his mobile, and it's actually a mobile number!) and those prices are only for existing customers from 2014!

In Perth store screens it's under sim free as is most Payg phones, only 3 under Payg tab.
Screen says nothing in store screen about £10 top up, asked and was told £4.99 no top up needed.
Apparently certain stores stock now can't be reserved in anyway than arrive and check instore ? And this is one of them items. Which is strange as I got the option to reserve logged into Argos site ?

Incredible even £5 as an FM radio and MP3 player but I have a few old phones that can do this.
