DOOM is the upcoming first-person shooter (FPS) being developed by id Software.
Developed by id software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat – whether you’re obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes. Expand your gameplay experience using DOOM SnapMap game editor to easily create, play, and share your content with the world.
You’ve come here for a reason. The Union Aerospace Corporation’s massive research facility on Mars is overwhelmed by fierce and powerful demons, and only one person stands between their world and ours. As the lone DOOM Marine, you’ve been activated to do one thing – kill them all.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of this posting-the-official-blurb nonsense. Especially when it contains the word "upcoming". What purpose does said blurb serve to the average HUKD user? Does anyone actually read it? I think it's safe to say we all know what Doom is.
Unless they're looking for hits on account of the Search Engine Optimisation. Possibly answered my own question there.
Heat added, incidentally

You shoot things, you move on, you shoot more things. This is Doom. Did you honestly expect anything else? What makes this game is the game mechanics. Basically, if you like to shoot things then buy this game.
In all honesty I didn't know what to expect as I had not previously played any Doom games  , however, every level felt too simular to the last for me. I agree though, very smooth game play indeed!

This isn't my usual jam at all, but I absolutely loved it. It's insanely smooth on PS4. Ludicrously violent and fairly one-dimensional... but in a good way. Heat!

Old skool shooter. Brilliant on line. Proper run and gun. Looks amazing and so much fun.

That was one example - maybe try Googling it yourself instead of continuing to try and justify your daft comments.

Doom might be the intellectual equivalent of a fart joke... but if it's a good fart joke, what's the problem?

This game is brilliant. Using old school gaming to make something new. Play it on hard though, genuine challenge. And don't stop moving!!

Yes. Because I think all gamers only buy games after considering how intelligent they make them feel.

This is a brilliant game. I bought it and completed it before trading it in, but I had an absolute blast playing it. OTT probably wait until it drops to around a tenner and then buy another copy, to keep this time. Worth every penny, best shooter I've played in a long time!
