Good deal OP, heated.
For the life of me however, I cannot understand how these manufacturers get away with including puny 1300mAh batteries in power tools. Not really acceptable in an era where the average smartphone battery is well over 2000mAh!

Ordered as well. Due to move house in next couple of weeks and I've got a 5 year old cheap drill - no hammer, battery lasts 15 mins if I'm lucky and don't even think about drilling into masonry.

Hadn't spotted that. Fantastic deal in that case. Charge one up while you use the other. Agreed something heavier duty is better for trade use, but as a DIY tool that should last this is a great buy at £80.

Although this may only be 1.3Ah it is still significantly larger than any phone battery. If this battery was configured to output 4.2v for a phone it would have 5.6Ah capacity. Although I do understand what you mean, it still is a small battery for use with a drill

As Bob_Loblaw87 pointed out, this is an 18volt battery whereas phone batteries are only about 4volts. Power is amps times volts so there's a lot more power in this than a phone battery.
I've got this drill and it came with two 1.3Ah batteries. During normal DIY use in the last 9 months (of which there's been a lot as I moved house) I've not managed to deplete the battery in a day. Worth buying a second battery though just in case, and the 2Ah ones aren't expensive. Highly recommend this drill. Complemented mine with a cheap SDS drill for tougher jobs (curtain poles into concrete lintels and such). Remember to register onlne for the extra guarantee.

I have a couple of 1.3 Dewalt batteries, they last well for the size of them when compared to other brands. If I'm doing alot of drilling I use a 4.0 battery which seems to last ages!
Dont be put off by the small battery size, I was suprised by how much power they have compared to others from other manufacturers (which are higher rated!)

OK, WAS an inflated price, now reduced to something near what it's worth.

Agreed, £80 is peanuts fir a branded drill, sure it's not a pro model but I've seen plenty of skilled tradesmen using cheap tools for basic tasks.

See past the brand name people - this is a decent amateur/DIY drill at an inflated price, no more. A professional would laugh at you if you thought otherwise.

Wouldn't say 80 quid is inflated

You can get 4 and 5ah batteries with these drills but they will be at least double the price and a little more!

Heat from me, can't fault the brand. I have the older 18v XRP which is more bulky, totally hammered it for about 8 years and it's still going strong, may invest in one of these for my son, then he might stop pestering me for mine!

Yep keep the old one as the manufacturing process hadn't changed and they made quality years ago, now its to a budget and the manufacturing process is a lot cheaper with less expensive parts used.
