I'm only really after black but color is nice too. Really want to go for this as it has fax functionality too.

Got this last time it was at this price. Good printer; the interface is a little dated (mono LCD and buttons galore) but the print quality is excellent. Had to create a new Gmail account to get the "scan to email" function to work. Came with a free ream of paper too!

Will this print B&W if a colour runs out, or will it refuse to print anything?

You be amazed how many different public services/councils still request that you fax documents to them.

Can anyone recommend a printer deal similar to this but with duplex?

I've got this, this is the fourth wireless printer I've dealt with and if your printer goes to sleep / power save mode I always find the connection flaky, it's even worse scanning. Would I buy this printer again? Yup!

I've not come across any - I'm intrigued to know. No duplex is poor, but you won't find an A3 laser printer for anything like this price. And saying "prints" makes me think you're expecting this to perform like an ink-jet for photographs. It won't.

Very nice printer am tempted to upgrade but lack of duplex is a off putting !
Otherwise it has the right size and toners are at a good price!

I believe it had that manual duplex option...for how often I need it it's probably good enough for me

markhand, your choice by all means, auto duplex is quite cheap as a factory fit. The printer I have turns the page for me. I wouldn't be with out it

Note that most cheap duplex multifunction printers don't have a duplexing ADF, meaning you can print double-sided but you can't copy or scan double-sided...

Yes, they all have manual duplex, as that costs nothing. For me, a duplexer is essential as otherwise you use twice as much paper for long documents.

Yes, they all have manual duplex, as that costs nothing. A duplexer is useful whenever you print more than one page, as you will save up to half the paper.

Auto duplex is nice too, doing it manual I have a brain fart which way the paper should go round and it often ends up wrong way !
Considering something so simple which makes life more easier, have to wonder why its so hard to get on good laser printers.
I have the C1760, think the toners are still about 15-20 quid for full set of replacements which is awesome but I miss the scanner function, I may just buy a separate cheap scanner since its rare I print or scan anyhow, its just so much easier and nicer to have it aio though.

As above, it's perfect. It even has the ancient fax + colour which I don't need but is nice to have on the side.
I'm just put off by the last of auto duplexing. I have the E514dw for £65.50 coming tomorrow but hear bad reviews on it so on the fence.

Goodbye driver updates. Generic drivers should retain most if not all of the printing functions.

While there's still a market for cartridges I'm sure third parties will be more than willing to manufacture them. You can still get cartridges for laser printers that were discontinued many years ago.
