Great price for a truly great beer - Delirium Tremens, currently available instore (not online) at M & S.
These beers are £2.40 each, but if you buy 6 you get 25% off until Monday, making them £1.80 each or £10.80 for 6.
Full price of £2.40 is actually already a really good price as these would usually be £3-3.50 from a specialist beer shop in the UK, but at £1.80 it is a fantastic bargain.
I appreciate £2.40 maybe to some still expensive for 330ml, but these are 8.5% and is a top rated Belgium beer and have been voted the best beer in the world.
These are not a beer you would usually find in a supermarket and generally would have to be purchased from a specialist online retailer or to get them anywhere £1.80 each would involve buying them direct in bulk from Belgium. So you have a great opportunity here to buy just a few to try at an exceptional price.

Disturbing name for a beer.
It's like calling a soft drink 'diabetes'.

Fair point, but things like Delirium Tremens should be easy to get in France, which was really what I was replying to. Personally I'm just happy if I can get Orval.

The stuff I'm after is difficult to get even in Belgium although I managed to get Pannepot Gran Reserva 2011 and Struise Blue Monk amongst others. French supermarkets are OK for some of the mainstream beers though like Westmalle triple for €1.50 at Super U.

I've had it a few times, love the stuff. If its on at £2.40 a bottle in emptying the shelves, I've paid over £3 a bottle for this online!

I wouldn't say this is better than Duvel that's personal preference but it is nice. I've just got back from Belgium where I was trying to find de struise beers and I saw this delirium tremens in Vanuxeem drinks cash and carry (1hr from Calais) for €1.37 per bottle (£1.15). It's a good day trip if you live in the south of England and want to do some Xmas shopping, especially if Eurotunnel have a day trip deal on

You don't even need to go to Belgium - the big French supermarkets tend to sell a decent selection of Belgian beer at around the same price as in Belgium.

Yes finished in Norwich, but somebody posted earlier "that offer starts next week in Monks Cross, York store, according to a member of staff", but £2.40 a bottle is still a good price, even if not on offer. You may not necessarily want to buy 6 until you have tasted it.

Seems odd for M&S of all places to be stocking beer with such a bizarrely sick name! What next, "Vomit Vodka" or "Wet-the-bed Wine"?

Not in my local M & S. Bloke never heard of them and says the buy 6 save 25% on beer ended last Monday.

I voted hot because this appears thought above a 10 cans of Cider for £3.99 in my feed. Sometimes cheap isn't always the best value

Indeed definitely an ironic name, certainly if you get hooked on this to the point of your GABA receptors down regulating, then when you try and quit you get the most horrific anxiety known to man and quite possibly death from seizure as your brain doesn't have enough receptors available to calm the brain down. Meaning even if you want to quit being an alcoholic you can't as it will kill you, so you need urgent medical attention at this point. Must be hell if you have to detox in prison for example.

noun
a psychotic condition typical of withdrawal in chronic alcoholics, involving tremors, hallucinations, anxiety, and disorientation.
Welcome to hell. Certainly an outrageous name for a beer, maybe if you've suffered the condition you can have a laugh about it later, who knows depends on your sense of humour
Here's some one quitting benzodiazepine medication (Valium and similar drugs) which has a similar effect to quitting alcohol >
Yea, expensive way to find out you may not like it. Sounds like Innis & gunn territory. At least that IS nice.

Innis and Gunn I loved it when I first tried it, the second time I hated and have ever since. I think it was down to it tasting quite different but then I realised actually I don't like this.
