Why would anyone want to co sleep? Straight from hospital to the cot. At eight weeks he sleeps like a log only waking once at night and even then it is usually us who wakes him for a feed and change. Co sleeping is for parents who don't want to sleep at night.

Is your baby bottle fed by any chance? Ask a breastfeeding mother why they'd want to co sleep and you'd get your answer

Don't know whether you breast/bottle feed but the majority of breastfeeding mums I know (and me also) are up several times a night to feed, which lasts beyond the newborn stage. Co sleeping might not necessarily be something parents set out to do, but inevitably end up doing. Well done on having a good sleeper, however don't think it really provides any useful information on the ops post

My wife breast feeds him, he is 9 weeks old.. We agreed that there would be no co sleeping before he was born and we have stuck to it, it is as much as anything a health and safety issue as it is a sleep issue. Usually he only wakes up once a night, last night was unusual as he woke up twice. The thing is, you have to change him each time he wakes so there is no advantage to having him in the bed as you have to get up anyway. My wife co slept with her two daughters (from a previous marriage) and she never got any sleep. We don't let the other kids in the bedroom at all. As I said to the 6 year old. There are only two sorts of people in this bedroom, those under 18 months old and those who change nappies, you want to change this? She declined the offer of changing nappies. If the kids want to jump on beds at 6am they can jump on their own beds. When I am out of the bedroom they can hassle me, jump on me as much as they like, but the bedroom is our sanctuary at night and until we get up. That is my best parenting tip. Whenever you move them into their own rooms at 18 months never let them back into your bedroom.

He is breast fed. As I commented to someone else. Each time he is fed he is changed so there is no advantage to having him in bed as you have to get up anyway to change him.

Heat added for price! These look brilliant and are more spacious than some of the other co sleeper cots available.
We've got an ikea Gulliver cotbed set up next to our bed and attached to form a co sleeper that will also be his cot bed when he goes into his own room. Works very well for us so far :smiley: (18 day old Velcro baby)
