I did this yesterday and got Brits 2016 as my free album

Yes can confirm that you can have multiple free albums on one account (even though the terms and conditions suggest otherwise).

Is it still on, and is it only 1 free album per Google account or can I buy 2 x £10 gift cards and get 2 free albums?

Bizareely, I got The Brit Awards 2016 (not listed above), apparently worth £9.99 in my list, and it came up free at checkout...
Oh yes, and I assumed one album per account, but ditto... ?

Bought 3 as will use the credit for Google Play Music subscription anyway, was hoping to add the free albums to somebody else's account but can't, you can however, claim more than one free album if you buy more than one gift card. Doesn't seem to stop you

You can call or write to the ASA, but I filled out their online form:
Was hoping Tesco had some sort of online complaints procedure, but will write as sylv suggests unless I can find one. Might be worth phoning customer services and finding out.

Ok it takes numbers to get action. Who did you contact and how ?

Just had an email advertising this. It's even worse than the online ad! No idea how to add a photo!

By letter.
They may already be aware: when I was in Tesco Extra this afternoon, I saw that on the rack of gift cards the display panel where this poster should be was empty. Perhaps they've pulled it (the poster, not the deal) after complaints.

Yeah, 'eligible albums' appear in the small print, but no indication of what those albums are until you redeem the voucher! I've complained to the Adverising Standards Authority who are going to look into it. What's the best way to complain to Tesco?
Dazzer68

its very misleading with the £8.99 point being irrelevant. only way to deal with it is to complain. i have if it was a list of particular albums, that could have been listed in the advert or provide a link.

To mislead you into assuming that you can spend it on some album you were hoping to buy anyway?

So I've redeemed my card, and can confirm the available albums are the ones in the list previously posted.
Very poor from Tesco (and Google Play), though.
Not only does their advertising give the impression that you can get ANY album free for £8.99 or less, but the £8.99 price itself is irrelevant as some of the albums on offer are more than that price, such as Drones by Muse for £9.99 or the A-Ha album for £11.99. A misleading piece of marketing there.

Thanks OP, picked a card up this morning.

Would rather they have done "buy a Google Play Voucher and get £3.99 added to its worth so you can spend it how you wish on Google Play Store". Still, heat for the deal.

So confirmed then, selected albums only?

Same here. Maybe the OP should have held off posting this until they had all the details, or maybe the 'Fools rush in...' proverb applies.

'Edit 15/08 19:56: The free album is offered automatically when you redeem the gift card at the Play Store, member feedback suggests around a choice of 30ish albums'
ok so that list that MattLondonE15 posted was the actual list of all the albums that are available for this? :disappointed:
Great if Heart FM is your radio station of choice. Feel a bit duped, but I suppose my Google balance needed a top up...

CDs are a digital format! The music is stored on the disc in 1s and 0s unlike say a audio cassette or vinyl record that stores the analogue waveforms. People these days tend to assume digital = download and everything else is analogue, which is completely wrong.
As to the deal, hot except for the £1.50 delivery charge for a digital voucher. I like to be able to buy online since my most local store is only a small Tesco that only does groceries, but no way am I paying £1.50 to receive an automated message...

My new car doesn't have a CD player. It plays files off a memory stick - but there are times when I buy a CD and want to play it but can't until I rip it to mp3 and transfer it to the stick.

Also, has anyone seen this offer anywhere else?

Dammit. In haste I bought this as soon as it came up on here. Now looks like it's certain albums not any album £8.99 and under ?
