Bosch make more things than you'll ever know. Their hydraulic power units lift Tower Bridge, the Anderton boat lift and the roll-on, roll-off gangways at Hull docks to name but a few. I designed them so I know! Their white goods factory is a colaboration with Siemens which is why the machines look similar. Qualcast and Bosch mowers are similar because Bosch own them. They also make Worcester boilers of course.

I've had all sorts of Bosch stuff. Irons. Lawnmowers. Drills. Screwdrivers. And they're all generally been superior than other makes. We recently got this item from JL & so far are not disappointed. Quieter than our previous makes too.

No, they're awful at them - they need changing weekly!

I bought the one below for £279, it looks to be nearly the same apart from this has a slower spin. The add to wash feature it really good and you can open the door fully, the Samsung with the same feature is way more expensive and gives you a little window to add things through.
My washing machine lets you open the door to add things whenever it's not spinning or the water's very hot. That's why I can't understand why this latest Samsung "feature" is anything more than a marketing wheeze.

Bosch appliances haven't been in collaboration with Siemens for a few years now. It's 100% Bosch owned.

Not always deserved - but their washers are better than most rubbish in the same price range.

Take a look at the reviews for John Lewis online before ordering, I need stuff like this (big, heavy goods) delivered on the day they say they are going to deliver it, not a couple of days after.

They certainly don't make washers like they used to now on 4th washer in 7yrs. Had Zanussi, Hotpoint, Hoover and currently have whirlpool which had to have a new heating element yesterday. They all seem to break down just outside the warranty period! Now if I was one of these conspiracy theorists.......well just saying.

Hotpoint, Indesit and Whirlpool are all owned by Whirlpool now and the quality is atrocious, sad cos you used to be able to buy a Hotpoint and KNOW you'd get 12 years out of it, now you're lucky if you get past the warranty.

I'm sorry but you've just listed some of the poorest makes out there - you keep making the same mistake I'm afraid.
Try Bosch or BEKO next time you're looking for a budget machine - they're not faultless but Which?, etc. suggest you are likely to get far better service from them than the rubbish you've been buying.

Because people always want cheap upfront deals! Even this website promotes that! I have a bosch and its just got to 10 years old never had a problem with it! Motor struggled a bit once but just cleaned waste pipe out then went like a dream! Might cost 50% more to begin with but over 10 years you will ultimely spend less! Would recommend Bosch over any other make any time!

Most of the wear and tear on washing machines is proportional to the number of cycles, not how old they are. How much do you use it?

Why don't they make televisions?

True the cheaper price is not guaranteed.
Well Elite membership is £15 per year and they guarantee that you will save more than £15 in a year if not they will return your money. In this case I tried it and they could not find a cheaper deal.

Sorry, I meant what's the guarantee on the product? At JLP it's 2 years.

I was just about to order this and looked up on Which. it scores 53% and not a Best Buy (82% top score) says it does not rinse excess detergent well and is poor, and spin is loud. Pros are 'good cleaning power at 40c synthetics cycle, good spin dry, easy to use. The WAN24100GB comes up as a Best buy for £349 if its Bosch you are after and as a 'brilliant and affordable choice'. Cons, noisy spin and slow cottons cycle. just pointing out as I have had problems with previous machines so want to get it right this time even if I have to pay a bit more. but thanks OP, still a decent price for this brand.
