you need the weights and even still if anything above a gust it'll tip.
Had a similar one from Asda with 4x weights and still unstable so brought it back

I would strongly recommend squirting WD40 into the crank mechanism frequently. Ours went rusty and buggered itself up in no time.

Not fully. If the rain is hard enougha fine mist passes through it.
I have one and we sat under it last weekend for a BBQ. Not brilliant but we would have been far worse off without it.
A wee bit of Tent water repellent and it would probably be fine.

Had one last year. Weighted down the base but had to take it back because the slightest breeze and the umbrella would move all over the place trying to take your face off. If you check out the more expensive one the umbrella is braced.

brought one 2 weeks ago at this price. absolute bargain. had 3 colours to choose from too. just be aware that you will need something heavy to weight the Base down (couple of paving slabs @ £2 each did the trick for me. pocked up from the store too)
