Assetto Corsa features an advanced DirectX 11 graphics engine that recreates an immersive environment, dynamic lighthing and realistic materials and surfaces. The advanced physics engine is being designed to provide a very realistic driving experience, including features and aspects of real cars, never seen on any other racing simulator such as tyre flat spots, heat cycles including graining and blistering, very advanced aerodynamic simulation with active movable aerodynamics parts controlled in real time by telemetry input channels, hybrid systems with kers and energy recovery simulation. Extremely detailed with single player and multiplayer options, exclusive licensed cars reproduced with the best accuracy possible, thanks to the official cooperation of Car Manufacturers.
ASSETTO CORSA has been developed at the KUNOS Simulazioni R&D office, located just inside the international racing circuit of Vallelunga, allowing the team to develop the game with the cooperation of real world racing drivers and racing teams.
Half price on Steam at the moment, on one of the best racing simulators out there.
Also you can get the game with Dream Packs 1, 2 and 3 for £22.49, which is a very decent price.

There is another great deal for AC, you can get Assetto Corsa + 3 car packs for £22.49, I actually regret buying this game last sale. If I could I'd sell it and buy it again but with the dlc :/
I am a project cars fan boy.. But assetto corsa.. Is perhaps in a different league.. Yes, graphics, weather and damage is lacking.. But.. For experience.. With those engine notes... Is a winner..
I've bought this for the pc... Still have pcars for the xbone.. Pcars is faster though.. In terms of feeling the speed...

AC has better tyre and chassis physics than iracing IMO. Try doing a burnout in any powerful car (like the F1s) in iRacing and you'll see the limitations of the tyre model. I say that as someone that spent 4 years subbed to iRacing and spent a lot of money on cars and tracks (and played GPL for years before that) . Of course iRacings mutliplayer structure is unbeatable, but it so much more expensive than the alternatives.

I would try it again Simon, their tyre model has changed massively since 2014

I don't agree, they're both great, AC has more life due to all the free mods available
Project Cars is a simcad this has better physics by a mile but still not up there with iracing or Rfactor2.
Like forza project cars is easy for the average user to pick up at just drive and be pretty good at it. The likes of AC/iracing/rf2/RRe all require large amounts of time to master them.
That's what puts a lot of the pick up a pad and go gamers off, they think it's crap because they can't drive the cars
Can you design your own cars to put in the game. I saw a video of Reliant Robins in Assetto so assume you can somehow.

Absolute steal for this price! As an iRacing fan boy, I still drop out to this regularly for fun hotlapping, mainly just because of the depth of content. I put it in the 'simulator' category for sure and I'd say it's worth it for Monaco and Senna's MP4-4 alone!
Force feedback setting take a little fine tuning if those kinds of things bother you but the physics are terrific.
