"nasty metal that will rust". What are you on? Description says that they are made from stainless steel.

Ha ha.. Never thought of that!! I've bought it for my son for uni. How impressed are his new friends gonna be when he shows off his spoon bending abilities!!!

Hmmm... I doubt the quality would be amazing, but great for students, temporary residents or landlords!?

I have been using a set of these for over 4 years and there is nothing wrong with them. Certainly outlived more expensive sets that family/friends have purchased.

not weird at all, some cheap knives and forks leave a metallic taste when you have them in your mouth. puts me off buying a new set but guna have to give in soon cos my teen son decided to use the teaspoons to fit his bike tyres!

Ikea do a really cheap cutlery set for about £1.70 but I can't find it online any more - hope they haven't discontinued it as I was going to pick some more up for work next time I was in. It's surprisingly robust for the price and great for places (offices, student accommodation) where teaspoons tend to go walkabout...

Go and buy it and see it for yourself. They are made of cheap metal. They are for surely not stainless steel or even if they are I wonder what sort of stainless steel is that.

Sometimes I just can't face the washing up. Thanks these will be perfect!

If the description states stainless steel (twice) then I'd be expecting them to be made of of stainless steel.
Either way, it's £3 so I suppose "cheap metal" is correct.

This is a silly argument: of course these are stainless steel - what else would they be? They don't rust but they are quite cheap pressings, are not finished as well as more expensive ones and they don't come in a nice (expensive) box. We use these in our holiday house: they are perfectly fine, they don't rust in the washing up machine, they stay sharp and don't bend too much as long as they are not used for fixing pushbikes.
I've added some heat because these are perfectly good items for a tiny cost (although I don't think they are a particular deal at the moment - I'm pretty sure I paid the same price when I bought our set a year ago).
These were on offer for something stupid like 90p a couple years back, so I thought how could I go wrong. They were rammed tight in a thin card box, and 'thin' was the operative word for the cutlery, and to be honest, absolute ****. But at 90p you couldn't argue, in fact if I recall Argos wouldn't even do a 'return' on them.
As for 3 quid, I wouldn't bother! Yeah, they are cheap. That's because they are! Suit camping or similar but that's it.
